It's safe to say that, for many of us, our TVs have recently become our closest companions. While confined to our homes and apartments, suffice it to say that having or getting a quality entertainment system setup has risen on our priority lists.

Contrary to popular belief, facilitating this upgrade doesn't have to be a financial pain. With many already having a solid TV and streaming device, the next step is snagging a soundbar.

While some of the most popular and reliable options currently retail for $250 and above, we've found a premium pick on sale that delivers in sound and quality and has shoppers' stamp of approval.

Currently retailing for $98 — $30 off its original retail price — at B&H Photo Video, this Sony soundbar packs a punch while maintaining a sleek and minimalistic package.

Among its key features are two-channel configuration, Bluetooth audio streaming and S-Force surround sound technology. According to its product description, the device also outputs up to 120W of total power to deliver more powerful audio than standard flat-panel display speakers.

For added convenience and functionality, this soundbar features an optical audio input and a USB port to connect additional compatible devices. These devices can also be seamlessly connected to the soundbar via Bluetooth.

The product also features an HDMI ARC connection that brings display-based sound, from apps like Netflix and YouTube, directly into the soundbar. What this essentially means is that the setup process is fully consolidated, requiring just this one cable to connect your display to the soundbar.

Additionally, the Sony 120W Stereo Soundbar features four sound modes (auto sound, theater, music and standard), two different mode effects (night mode and voice mode) and an S-Master digital amplifier. The device also comes with a remote, allowing users to easily control its functions.

So, what are shoppers saying about this device? Seeing as the soundbar has an overall rating of 4.5 stars, it's safe to say they're impressed. In fact, one reviewer who purchased the product in April 2020 shared that this soundbar produces "quality sound at its best."

"It's amazing the sound quality and how crisp it is," the five-star reviewer wrote. "I love it! It's incomparable with others. I already knew it was great because of the brand but it superseded my expectations."

Another shopper explained that this soundbar remedied a problem that could not be fixed any other way.

"I am pleased with this Sony soundbar. We have a TCL TV which has speakers at the back .... This caused the sound to always be quiet," the reviewer wrote. "The sound quality that comes out of the soundbar is very good."

Several other reviewers praised the easy one-cord setup, with many sharing that it was "easy and simple."

One critique a few shoppers had for the device, however, is that while it "didn't disappoint," it would have been nice if it produced "more bass."

"I'm just a more bass type of guy," one reviewer wrote before adding that the "quality is great being a Sony product."
