Let’s be honest — The everyday human doesn’t walk around with a DSLR camera on deck. This is mostly due to the financial and portable convenience of smartphones — pieces of tech that arguably everyone has in their possession at all times.

This reality leads us to hoard hundreds — sometimes even thousands — of photos in our camera rolls, chronicling memories that we hope to cherish for years to come. But, what good are they if they’re not on display? With this in mind, KiiPix has created an Instant Photo Printer that is specifically designed to easily turn the photos stored in your camera roll into physical keepsakes.

Retailing for under $50, this handy piece of tech is described to be “stupidly easy to use,” and without the need for WiFi, apps, batteries or cables — all of which are usually needed for products similar in function — this claim is easy to believe.

This instant photo printer only requires two things to operate: film and your smartphone.

Unclear as to how this could even be possible? Here’s how it works: Simply pull up the photo you would like to print on your phone’s screen, place your smartphone on the top of the printer with the screen facing downward, press the shutter button on the device, rotate the dial and voilà! — You’ve got a physical copy of your photo in-hand and ready to go.

Proving that this gadget isn’t too good to be true, it boasts a 5/5 star average rating on Firebox, with shoppers raving that it’s “just perfect.”

“An elegant example of the convenience of instant print. The quality of the photos adds a non-commercial nostalgia to the memories,” one shopper wrote, with another adding, “I just think it is magical.”

One shopper heeded though that the device only works if the brightness on your phone is high enough for the image to be identified.

“It didn’t work at first but only because the brightness of my phone wasn’t high enough,” the five-star reviewer wrote. “After I fixed that it worked perfectly fine!”
