Moroccanoil creates perfect, effortless waves at NYFW

Everyone can recognize the "model-off-duty" beauty look: effortless waves, a clean face and a swipe of lip color. While in theory, the look should be relatively simple to do at home, appearing polished without looking like you had to try too hard can be a challenge.

But recently at the Lela Rose Fall 2020 presentation during New York Fashion Week, the show's glam team absolutely nailed the look on the models — and we went backstage to get all of the details.

Thanks to a combo of products from Moroccanoil and 100% PURE, each of the women were given smooth, imperfect waves and a deep red lip. Keep reading to find out how.

Kevin Hughes, artistic director at Moroccanoil, started by adding a dime-size amount of Moroccanoil Treatment Light and Moroccanoil Hydrating Styling Cream to the models' damp hair. He added Moroccanoil Perfect Defense to protect hair from the heat styling and began blow-drying the hair out smooth.

Hughes then sprayed Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Strong on the front portion of the hair to keep those face-framing pieces in place, tucked behind ears.

To get those elusive shiny, loose waves, Hughes then made subtle bends throughout the back of the hair with a flat iron and added Moroccanoil Mending Infusion from mid-length to the ends of the hair. He finished off the hairstyle with another spray of hairspray.

As for the beauty look, 100% PURE makeup artist Deanna Melluso combined three lip products together to get that perfect raspberry popsicle lip shade: Fruit Pigmented Pomegranate Oil Anti Aging Lipstick in Dahlia, Lip Caramel in Red Velvet and Fruit Pigmented Cocoa Butter Matte Lipstick in Aubergine.
