Because the best gift you can give her is quality time together.
Every year, you find yourself trying to figure out unique things to do on Mother's Day to show her how much you care. While you can always make some delicious Mother's Day brunch recipes and buy flowers, why not step things up this year with a fun activity, like buying tickets to a baseball game or going to an amusement park? Or, for a low-key day that's still thoughtful, go for a bike ride or take a stroll around a local garden in order to soak up some sunshine together.
You could also use her Mother's Day gifts as the special activity for the day, like treating her to an afternoon at the spa or taking her shopping and buying her something special. Some of these ideas are just things you can do around the house so that you can just enjoy the time spent together. You might even want to just sit on the couch and enjoy one of the best TV shows every mom and daughter should binge (ahem, Gilmore Girls sounds like a winner). No matter what things to do on Mother's Day strike your fancy, it's guaranteed to be great since it'll be spent celebrating the most important woman in your life.
Some Guy: We spend over $700 billion on defense (baseline budget) each year but we cannot defend our elections against cyberattacks, against viruses, or win in Iraq or Afghanistan. We have diplomatic relations with Vietnam, China, and Russia but not with Cuba and Iran. We need to reboot our defense and foreign strategies for the 21st century instead of envisioning a replay of WW II. Spending over five times more than the total spending or China and Russia doesn't make a lot of sense. We could redirect some of that spending domestically and reduce our deficit spending.
