Although TravisMathew is viewed as more of a proper men's clothing brand these days, it's important to remember the brand is rooted in golf. You pretty much can't go wrong with any TravisMathew golf apparel, but we will recommend The Heater Polo to the moon. It's one of the most breathable and versatile polos we've tested, plus it's also the polo of choice of 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm.

Last year Lululemon, one of our favorite athleisure brands, finally gave us the golf collection we've been waiting for, and we haven't looked back since. Imagine your best Lululemon garments, but with a touch more room and a more friendly cut that allows you to take powerful hacks without ever worrying about your clothes inhibiting your swing. Sounds pretty great, right?
After testing a year's worth of Lululemon's golf shirts and pants, we found that they also look great off the course, so you can get away with wearing a simple outfit to work and then go straight to the course for an evening round.
Another legacy golf brand on this list, Wilson has put out an impressively large collection of apparel with modern styling and elite performance. The brand has knockout garments across its entire board, from golf pants that can be worn right off the course to outerwear with excellent wind protection. Pick up something versatile like the Tour Shacket, a home run piece we tested when playing in cool temperatures between 55 and 70-degrees. Or you could go with one of their retro-inspired sweatshirts that are reminiscent of what your dad might have worn years ago.

Vuori Clothing Meta Jogger
Vuori doesn't necessarily have a ton of dedicated golf garments, but our testing has shown the clothes wear just as good on the links as they do off. We've played all day in Vuori's Ace Polo many times, and we've taken the Meta Pant for a spin too. However the most unique Vuori golf piece we liked is the Meta Jogger. It's perfect for wearing to the driving range to practice your game.
Most of the golf brands on this list put out pretty solid rain gear, but the adidas Rain.Rdy jackets combine the best water resistant tech in a comfortable, stylish look. You'll pay up a bit for the rain jacket, but when you consider how long its going to last the cost per wear will definitely impress you over time.
All of adidas golf in general is premium quality too, so if you pickup the rain jacket it's worth matching it up with a polo and a pair of pants. Long live the three stripes.

A longtime favorite for serious golfers, Peter Millar is all about clean, performance-ready pieces. The garments are always easy to match and timeless in style, so the high price point can be viewed as an upfront investment that will factor out quite well when you figure the overall cost per wear.
We like the quality of the brand's hybrid pieces, as they offer easy solutions to those days when temperatures fluctuate and the weather conditions are slightly unpredictable.
Puma has garnered high attention for its modern digs over the years, and while the brand has tons of hidden gems in its golf apparel (and golf shoes) the most iconic piece has got to be the brand's signature "P" golf hats. Puma continues to remix the popular hat in tons of different styles and colors, making it easy to find a dome piece that's full of expression and made with a cut that provides proper shade.
Under Armour has been churning out top-of-the-line golf gear for years now while sponsoring some of the biggest names in the game. You can't go wrong with any of UA's golf pieces—their golf belts are probably our favorite among all of the brands—but if you're building a comprehensive golf wardrobe you'll definitely want to diversify your polo shirts. Go for one of UA's striped or graphic polos. It will last for quite a long time.
Bonobos' golf attire carries the same qualities as its comfortable clothes: ample stretch and a premium moisture-wicking ability. There are a few different types of pieces you can grab from the brand, but really where Bonobos shines on the course is in its golf shorts.

Following a mantra that reads "Play More, Complain Less", Devereux provides fresh and bold designs to the golf space that pushes the boundaries just enough without going overboard. The Texas brand has been on a roll with its collection drops in the past year. Our favorite garment category from the brand right now are its polos. You simply can't get these styles anywhere else.
TRUE Linkswear has a casual, West Coast energy you can feel in all its apparel offerings. Everything from its pants to tees promise a comfortable feel, but the one area the brand does exceptionally well is its footwear. The All Day Knit series is one of our favorite golf shoes to date thanks to its breathable mesh and longstanding materials that hold up great on and off course. We just re-upped on the new All Day Knit 3.

Brady Brand has simple, performance-driven pieces that will match with nearly all the golf attire you have in your wardrobe already. You can go a couple of routes when it comes to shopping Brady Brand, but we highly recommend its lightweight vest. The staple piece will be a mainstay in your rotation for years to come.
Golf has grown significantly in diversity over the past few years, and brands like Eastside Golf are some of the core reasons why that trend continues to grow. The brand's core beliefs are to raise awareness to "youth and non golfers" and to promote diversity to the game while staying authentic.
Eastside Golf has rallied off a number of fresh collaborations, including ones with Jordan Brand and the NBA. This is a golf apparel brand that's changing the game in real time.
Malbon Golf has been around for over half a decade now, but the streetwear-inspired brand caught fire during the golf boom that occurred during the Pandemic. Malbon Golf has kept its momentum going ever since, churning out stylish and sporty collaborations with big name brands like Nike, adidas, New Balance, and more.
The range and creativity of Malbon Golf seems to have no bounds, making it a prime brand to shop if you want the coolest new apparel the sport has to offer. The only downside about buying this brand is the demand is high, so sell-outs are common.
Chubbies golf apparel line hasn't been out as long as some of these other brands, but we've found the quality of the clothing is some of the best when it comes to playing in hot temperatures. The brand has some insanely lightweight and breathable polo styles (with unique patterns, no less). But our top garment pick is their stretchy, above-the-knee cut shorts. Don't be afraid to show off some quad.

What to Know About Buying Golf Clothes
One of the key differences between buying golf clothes and regular clothes is fit. Unlike casual men's clothes, golf clothes have an ideal fit that's not too tight and not too baggy. To elaborate, you don't want golf clothes that fit too tight, as it can cause restriction to your full range of motion when swinging. You don't want golf clothes that fit too loose either, as they can inhibit your golf swing by getting snagged and adding weight to your body. Instead, the best golf clothes will have a kind of tapered fit with a few strategic areas for added space. The most common strategic additions of space for golf garments include added room in the back and shoulder for golf polos and jackets and added room in the seat and quads for golf pants.
In terms of body type, a guy with a more athletic and fit physique will benefit going with a brand that's going to show off those features. We're talking more form-fitting polos (where the arms fill out the sleeves ever so nicely) and a cleaner tapered pant to show off the legs, as opposed to a pant that is cut straight.
Bigger guys can look good on the course too. A couple of garments that work with guys with bigger builds include button down shirts, short-sleeve golf pullovers, and polos with a more generous cuts. Darker pants and tops can also add a slimming effect, if that's something to be desired.
Across the board, golf clothes should be made with breathable, moisture-wicking fabrics. Most golf clothes are therefore made with performance blends (rarely do you see cotton). Golf clothes should also have ample stretch so you can move and twist in every which way.
Avoid sturdy fabric blends at all cost, and keep an eye out for golf attire that's too thin and breathable. You want golf clothes that are still durable enough to hold its shape over time. Luckily, all of the golf brands above use quality fabric blends that fall within these guidelines.
In 2023, the rules on what kind of style is appropriate for the course is more open than ever. Nonetheless, you should still be aware of traditional golf attire rules—that way you aren't stopped by a course employee before you play the first hole of the day. Unless you're playing a course you're familiar with, or going to the driving range, you should always make sure you're wearing some type of collared shirt. The fact of the matter is most golf courses have a dress code still, and choosing to not wear a collar to a new course you've never been to could keep you from playing. The only solution when this happens is buying a polo in the pro shop to fall in line with the code.
The only other dress we recommend avoiding for golf is loungewear or casual wear, like sweat shorts, sweatpants, and jeans. It's best to avoid white t-shirts and graphic tees, too. We know these dress rules can be distasteful to some, but it's better to look at proper golf attire as part of the fun of the game. Dressing up for golf can be exciting and allow you to be creative, all while honoring the rich tradition of the sport.
How We Selected
For the past 12 months, Men's Health gear editors and writers, including our gear and commerce editor John Thompson, have been testing tons of golf apparel in order to find the best golf clothing brands in the sport. To narrow down our favorites, we evaluated golf clothing brands based on quality, performance, style, and price point. We also considered what each golf clothing brand does exceptionally well in order to point out what is unique to each one.
