The 21 Best Gifts for Teens, According to TikTok
"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links."
I watched hours and hours of TikTok to find the best TikTok-approved gifts for teens. My algorithm, I fear, will never recover. Seriously, though, I thought that there would be a lot of weird stuff you've never heard of getting popular with teens on TikTok like there is in the parenting and #Cleantok communities (see: the Scrub Daddy Sponge), but that’s not the case. The stuff they love and talk about makes a lot of sense for them: hair supplies for kids with long or unruly hair, backpacks that fit all their stuff, skincare designed for acne-prone skin, and a ton of gaming stuff.
TikTok is an underutilized resource for gift ideas for teens — especially with Valentine’s Day just around the corner. If you want to improve your chances of your present landing with the youths, TikTok-approved gifts are the way to go. It’s where teens talk to teens, which, as adults all know, is far different from how they talk to us.
I and reviews editor Micki Wagner learned a lot (and sometimes way too much) about teenagers in our search for the best TikTok-approved gifts for teens and tweens. Read on to see what we dug up and how these products can make your gift decision easier. —Cat Bowen, Senior Reviews Editor
FreeSip Insulated Stainless Steel Water Bottle
You could buy the teen you’re shopping for the massively popular Stanley tumbler that other teens around them probably have. Or, you could get them the new viral sensation: the Owala FreeSip Water Bottle. It comes in four sizes and over 20 colors (though some are out of stock on Amazon) and can keep their bevvies chilled throughout the school day and well into their extracurriculars. —Micki Wagner

As a fan of clacky, mechanical-style keyboards myself, I get this one on a deep level. A backlit, compact, wireless or wired, mechanical keyboard designed for comfortable and sensory-pleasing game play? Sign me up. Also, sign up about a bajillion teenage boys and kids on TikTok. — Cat Bowen
Hollywood Vanity Mirror With Light
When my daughter saw me looking for this on Amazon, she said to me, “I’m actually offended that I don’t have this already.” Which seems a bit harsh, but hey, teens and tweens are pretty harsh.
It's a vanity mirror with three choices of colors and 360-degree turning. Great for makeup, hair, and psyching themselves up for school with a killer pep talk. — Cat Bowen
Daily Care Minis Moisturizing Lip Balm Tubes with SPF 15
Waiting for the bus can give you some seriously chapped lips. Carmex to the rescue. A gender-neutral gift that everyone can get behind. The teens of TikTok love this one because you don't have to stick your finger in a pot to apply it. It's also SPF 15 and has multiple flavors included. — Cat Bowen
Women’s Waffle Knit Pajama Sets
Cute pajamas were on all the teens’ holiday gift lists, and I get it. These are so much nicer than the heavy-fleece Tweety Bird-print pant-and-jersey combo that I wore in high school. These weren't an option in the stone ages. Waffle weave with a nice amount of stretch, these will be lived in. — Cat Bowen
10L Mini Fridge
Soda, skincare, and snacks can be held in this cool mini fridge. Teens on TikTok love it for how easily it keeps their siblings away from the soda that they buy for themselves. — Cat Bowen
300 LED Curtain Lights for Bedroom
It’s not a curtain, really. It’s a backdrop that a lot of teens are hanging in their bedroom behind their beds. It gives the room a dreamy quality, warming up the area. This set has 200 lights, the gauzy fabric, and you can choose what colors the LED lights will shine. — Cat Bowen
Go 3: Portable Speaker with Bluetooth
Kids spend a lot of time in the bathroom, and this waterproof and dustproof speaker allows them to take their music with them without ruining the speaker. I have another version of this in my bathroom right now, and I love it. The charge lasts forever, and the volume is exceptional. —Cat Bowen
You Perfume
I love this perfume. My daughter loves this perfume. All the girls on TikTok love this perfume. It smells so good — like what you wish you smelled like in high school and college, but elevated enough for adults to steal a few spritzes from time to time. —Cat Bowen
Benassi ‘Just Do It’ Athletic Sandal
My son has three pairs of shoes he wears routinely: Air Force 1 high tops, Crocs, and these. Yes, he wears socks with all three, and so do all the other kids on TikTok. To be fair, I wore the Adidas version when I played soccer — also with socks. —Cat Bowen
Adult Classic Clogs
Crocs have no age, they have no gender, they have no right to be that comfy. But they are, and though they are one of the most unfortunate looking shoes on the planet, kids, teens, and adults love them. You can't get on high school TikTok without seeing several pairs. —Cat Bowen
FlexStyle Air Styling & Drying System
This is more of a Sweet 16/quinceñera/bat mitzvah gift if we're going by the price. It's a lift, but many of the teens on TikTok swear by this dryer and say it's every bit as good as the other styler that's similar but a lot more expensive. —Cat Bowen
Sauvage Perfume
It's ten thousand times better than the smell of teen boy or the smell of Axe deodorant. It’s a pricier parfum, but a little goes a long way (you’ll need to teach them that), and the smell is heavenly. A bit fresh, a bit leathery, and not at all like rotting funk. —Cat Bowen
Sheet Mask for Acne Relief
Remember teenage acne? It’s the worst. Kids are fighting back harder than ever, and these sheet masks are a TikTok-popular way to do it. Filled with azelaic acid and moisturizers, it’s a gentle treatment for acne that teenagers love. —Cat Bowen
Derrick Leather RFID-Blocking Bifold with Flip ID Wallet
Teens nowadays are so much more prepared than my friends ever were growing up. The boys of TikTok were super specific that their wallets be RFID-blocking so that no one can charge anything while they’re wearing their wallet. It’s smart.
Fossil wallets last forever, meaning your kid may have kids before this gives up the ghost. There’s plenty of room in it for all they need, and it sits nicely in the pocket. —Cat Bowen

Affordable custom neon wall signs are fun and easy, but they also show that you took the time to think ahead, plan, and get them this gift that so many kids have on their wall in the background of TikTok. It's really sweet if you think about it. —Cat Bowen

Shein phone cases are all over TikTok. They have the most variety for the cheapest prices, meaning you can pick up a bunch of them and make a whole gift out of it. Imagine handing over, like, six cases and a fun PopSocket or three. And even better if they feature cute hearts for Vday like this one. —Cat Bowen & Micki Wagner
Cooling Water Jelly Tint Blush and Lip Stain
This combo literally dropped just a couple of days ago, and it’s already blowing up. Get this for the teen who’s obsessed with makeup to show them you’re on top of the trends, too.
As the name implies, this tint has such a fun, Jello-like feel to it (it seems like every TikToker who reviewed this product tapped the stain stick with their finger to make that point). Plus, it’s also non-acnegenic, so teens struggling with pimples can love this product, too. —Micki Wagner
