The 20 Best "Drag Race All Stars" Lip Syncs Of All Time (These Are The Ones That Left Us Gagging)
- Oops!Something went wrong.Please try again later.
20.Shea Couleé vs. Jujubee vs. Miz Cracker to Janelle Monáe's "Make Me Feel"
All Stars 5 was a tight race to the finish line. Shea, Juju, and Miz Cracker were neck and neck all season long, and their final lip sync for the crown was no exception. Shea's slow build from robotic movements into a powerful finish ultimately won her the crown.
19.Alaska Thunderfuck vs. Katya to the Runaways' "Cherry Bomb"
There's quite a bit of controversy surrounding this lip sync (involving a certain bejeweled white tank top). This was the second time in All Stars 2 that Alaska and Katya went face to face on the main stage, and it did not disappoint. Somewhere in the multiverse Katya wins this lip sync and sends home Roxxxy, allowing Alyssa to compete in the finals. Alaska uses a very hands-on (tongue-on?) approach, which ultimately threw Katya off her game.
18.Manila Luzon vs. Trinity the Tuck to Whitney Houston's "How Will I Know"
Manila is a Drag Race legend, and her performance in this lip sync is exceptional. She oozes with an '80s dreamy girl next door essence. It's a good reminder that a lip sync can be won with simplicity and connection to the song. Trinity held her own here, but Manila won the second she leaned against the back of the stage. (Taking a major note from the book of Alyssa Edwards.)
17.Alaska Thunderfuck vs. Phi Phi O'Hara (Jaremi Carey) to Cheryl Lynn's "Got to Be Real"
This is one of the more absurd moments in the pantheon of All Stars lip syncs. Dressed as the wicked pageant puppet "Lil Poundcake" (a callback to her time on Season 5), Alaska terrorizes the stage with middle fingers and sour faces. And you know what? It's funny. You almost start to feel bad for Phi Phi, but her performance is also so smooth that you can't even tell she's being chased around by a monster.
16.Shea Couleé vs. Alyssa Edwards to the Pointer Sisters' "Neutron Dance"
All Stars 5 introduced us to the concept of the "Lip Sync Assassin," and there is no greater assassin than Alyssa Edwards herself. Shea was armed and ready for battle. This lip sync is high energy and fun, and you can tell that the other queens in the room are genuinely gagged. Even against Alyssa's signature leg up on the back wall, Shea is able to pull out the win.
15.Detox vs. Alyssa Edwards to Taylor Dayne's "Tell It to My Heart"
If Alyssa Edwards is lip-synching, she is not holding back. Oh, at all. The way she completely throws herself around the stage during this song is an Olympic sport only she is able to compete in. And trust me, she wins gold. Detox gives her a major run for her money in her sexy silver getup. I'm telling you, if Alyssa puts her foot up on the back of the stage, it is OVER for her competitor.
14.Pangina vs. Janey Jacké to Vengaboy's "We Like to Party! (Vengabus)"
We like to party. No, really. We like to party. Something about Pangina's neon yellow wig thrashing around under neon green lighting scratches a major brain itch. Not to mention that they're lip-syncing to the Six Flags commercial's theme song... It all seems like a fever dream, but in the best way. Pangina slays; Janey slays; it's just all around a good time.
13.Monét X Change vs. Trinity the Tuck to Christina Aguilera's "Fighter"
Wig. No, literally...wig. This lip sync is included for one moment and one moment only: Monét's ICONIC wig reveal from pussycat wig into identical pussycat wig. Trinity gives a strong classic performance, and Monét kills the comedy, winning them both an All Stars crown. Both of these queens will return for a third time in the ring on the All-Winners season coming this week. Will they finally have a tie breaker?
12.Ginger Minj vs. Mayhem Miller to Lizzo's "Phone"
I, too, was asking, where the hell my phone? You can't go wrong when Lizzo is involved. This lip sync stands out because Ginger and Mayhem truly share the stage, and take every moment to play off of each other. It feels lighthearted and fun. When drag queens have fun, we all have fun.
11.Valentina vs. Monét X Change to Ariana Grande's "Into You"
If you're not familiar with Valentina's run on Season 9, I'll give you a recap: She doesn't have a great track record with lip syncs...or Ariana Grande songs for that matter. Valentina had so much to prove, and she really left it all on the stage that night. She spun so fast you would thing she would take off like a helicopter. And what can we say? We're into her. OK, and not to mention this is followed up by the full-circle closure of her drama with Farrah Moan? It's so chef's kiss.
10.Ra'Jah O'Hara vs. Brooke Lynn Hytes to Janet Jackson's "Miss You Much"
We were all craving a smackdown between these two assassins during Season 11, but the cards never quite fell in our favor. Finally, in All Stars 6, the stars aligned, and oh my god did these queens deliver. Performing "Miss You Much," the girls set the runway on fire with splits, kicks, and dips. The performance was so good that Ru declared them both winners. We would be lucky to see them face off again some day.
9.Shangela vs. Trixie Mattel to RuPaul's "Peanut Butter"
This lip sync is so goofy. I had to include it because it literally makes me laugh out loud every time I watch it. So many questions... Where did Shangela have space in her suitcase to fit that inflatable suit? Where did she even find it? Where did she pull the sunglasses from? Why didn't she win the season? It's such a ridiculous performance set to a ridiculous song. I love it. Tens across the board.
8.Kylie Sonique Love vs. Manila Luzon to Christina Aguilera's "Dirrty"
When Manila walked onstage, Kylie knew she was up against the best of the best so she pulled out all the stops. Her long blonde hair flipping and splitting to the soundtrack of Christina Aguilera... It's a dream come true. And with all those gymnastics? The devil works hard, but Kylie's yellow tank top works harder. She showed up and showed out, and that's why she's a winner, baby.
7.Naomi Smalls vs. Gia Gunn to RuPaul's "Adrenaline"
I bend over completely backward for this lip sync. "The battle of the human hair bundles," as Valentina calls it. Naomi, queen of the runway, looks stunning in a red leather set. She cements her spot in the competition by doing an unimaginable back bend that instantly became a meme online. I saw both glamour AND beauty onstage that night.
6.Silky Nutmeg Ganache vs. Silky Nutmeg Ganache to Aqua's "Barbie Girl"
We were all heartbroken to learn that A'keria C. Davenport chose not to participate in the All Stars 6 smackdown for a chance to return to the competition. Silky kindly asked Ru if she could perform alone that evening, as she had prepared something for the judges to enjoy. Silky Nutmeg Ganache slays the house down boots in a half-male, half-female performance. It's perfection, and she deserves the world.
5.Naomi Smalls vs. Monét X Change to Judy Garland's "Come Rain or Come Shine"
This was the first time Naomi won a challenge in All Stars 4, and she was hungry to eliminate some competition. Naomi gives Broadway in her electric neon green look (Michelle's favorite). A legendary performance followed by a legendary elimination. Naomi knocks out Manila, the front-runner, to improve her odds of getting to the finale. What can I say? Life's not fair.
4.Aja vs. BenDeLaCreme to Nicki Minaj's "Anaconda"
Oh my god, Becky, look at her butt... All Stars 3 started off with a bang. After winning the talent show, Aja and Dela faced off to Nicki's Minaj's "Anaconda." Aja serves a performance so sexy that it makes Carson's jaw drop, but Dela takes the campy comedy route and ends up snatching the win.
3.Jujubee vs. Raven to Robyn's "Dancing on My Own"
Listen, we don't talk about All Stars 1, but it gave us some moments to remember. All season long, the queens compete together in teams of two, but in a heartbreaking twist before the finale, Jujubee and Raven must lip-synch against each other to determine who enters the top three. The queens can barely move as they sob their way through the performance. It's emotional and powerful, and there aren't any other moments quite like it.
2.Trinity K. Bonet vs. Laganja Estranja to Dua Lipa's "Physical"
You take two lip sync legends and dip it in the Dua Lipa, and it's just good. I pulled my back watching this for the first time. I have never in my life seen a human body move in the way Laganja's does — and make no mistake, TKB keeps up with her. This legendary lip sync shifted the universe when it dropped. COME ON ALL STARS 6, LET'S GET SICKENING.
1.Alyssa Edwards vs. Tatianna to Rihanna's "Shut Up and Drive"
The magnum opus of Drag Race lip syncs. Two All Stars 2 queens, desperate for a chance to return to the competition, battle their hearts out to "Shut Up and Drive." This lip sync is legendary. Dare I say it's even the best Drag Race lip sync of all time. The identical black and white outfits, the spinning dance moves in the songs breakdown, the stunts. It will live in my mind rent free for the rest of my life. Tatianna and Alyssa Edwards, you will ALWAYS be famous.
