National Latine Heritage Month is annually celebrated from September 15 to October 15. From Sylvia Rivera to Christina Hayworth, Latine folks have historically been pioneers of LGBTQ+ visibility and the fight for acceptance. It is not very different when it comes to Hollywood either. Here are 19 beloved Latine celebs who are out and proud as queer.

1.Wilson Cruz

The Afro-Puerto Rican actor most famous for his portrayal of Rickie Vasquez on My So-Called Life and Dr. Hugh Culber on Star Trek: Discovery has opened up about his struggles of being a gay man many times. He is known for being the first openly gay actor to play a gay character in a leading role in an American TV series (Rickie Vasquez on My So-Called Life). He is an advocate for LGBTQ youth and in particular, LGBTQ youth of color.

2.Ricky Martin

The Puerto Rican singer and actor known as "Latin Pop God" is one of the most influential artists of our time. The singer identifies as gay and has been married to Swedish painter, Jwan Yosef, since 2017.

In an interview with Wired, the actor revealed that she identifies as 3/4 Dominican and 1/4 Puerto Rican. The actor, now married to artist Marco Perego, has clarified in a 2013 interview that she can "totally see herself with a woman".
