What 18 Vogue Editors Are Eyeing From the New Common Threads Amazon Store

Sarah Spellings

At Vogue, we’ve spent a lot of time recently thinking about our summer outfits. Maybe it’s because we’re presently all working from home and not going anywhere too special, but pretty printed dresses and fun accessories are often what we’re daydreaming about.

When Vogue, Amazon, and the CFDA announced the new Common Threads store on Amazon yesterday, that meant that suddenly some of our favorite American designers were available just two taps away—how tempting. So, naturally, 18 Vogue editors combed through the new store and chose their favorite picks. It doesn’t hurt that many editors have seen these brands grow and have worked with the designers before, making the shopping trip a bit more personal. For one editor, the dress she styled Kim Kardashian West in for a Vogue shoot can now be hers (or yours) forever! From summery straw hats to linen dresses, elegant evening wear to studded flatforms, there’s something for everyone and more than enough to satiate our daydreams. Ahead, 18 Vogue editors share their top picks from the Amazon store.

After being stuck inside all winter, I am embracing the warmer days and getting out for more walks. This Gigi Burris hat will provide the perfect shade from the summer sun.

My summer wardrobe is full of loose, easy pieces - nothing too tight or clingy! This billowy blouse is perfectly paired with jeans for summer nights outdoors.

I love the ‘90s minimal vibe of this Ryan Roche slip dress. Normally, I’d be packing it for a summer weekend away - but for now it’s equally great for hanging out at home.

Tanya Taylor’s tote is the ultimate picnic set up, all in one basket. A must-have for this summer’s dining al fresco (the at home edition), or in the park. It even comes with wine glasses and all the fixins! I’d also love to wear these Edie Parker flower earrings while picnicking, even if I’m alone in my own backyard!

I just got a pair of these vacation-in-a-box sunglasses from Krewe. They are the perfect updated classic black specs and give me major French Riviera/vintage convertible/Grace Kelly vibes while I stay at home. New York may be insisting on serving us up the coldest spring ever but these are helping me turn my eyes towards summer.

This Adam Lippes dress has the ease I’ve grown used to working from home, and the polish I’ll need when we return to the office—a smart investment.

I fell in love with Gigi’s work during the start of my Vogue career, when the brand competed as a finalist in the 2014 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Since then, we’ve worked together a lot. Her brand means a great deal to me (a fellow downtown-dweller and eternal lover of small accessories), so I have my eye on this fantastic straw hat which will be perfect for the summer ahead.

As the weather improves and work-from-home life drags on, loose-fitting cabana shirts are becoming a major wardrobe staple for me. And what better way to satisfy my craving for fresh micro-florals and summer brights than this orange number from one of my favorite CFDA/Vogue Fashion Funders, Jonathan Cohen? Between his famously playful prints and bold use of color, and his recently launched digital “flower shop” (for which 30% of the proceeds go to charities like A Common Thread, Bowery Mission, Feed the Frontlines NYC, and No Kid Hungry).

As summer approaches, I can’t help but feel excited about slipping my feet into a chic pair of sandals once again. I’ve always been a fan of Phillip Lim’s work and these studded ones will give me the style boost I know I need after quarantining at home.

I love this dress because it’s comfy enough to lounge around at home in but it’s also perfect for virtual parties or meetings as well! It doubles as a skirt which means you can play around with different tops and tees. I love something that’s versatile and comfortable so this is perfect for me—especially now that I’m multitasking like never before.

This Rebecca De Ravenel dress is as dramatic as it is darling. The sleeves give it a medieval goddess vibe while the cheery pink linen makes it perfect for summer—even if that summer is spent at home.

I am very much looking forward to the days I can take my lounging outdoors and trade sweatpants and slippers for swimsuits and sandals. I love the idea of mixing the feminine suit from Morgan Lane with the tougher 3.1 Phillip Lim platforms - even if I am the only one to see the result.

Like practically everyone else, I’ve been living in sweatpants for the past two months. Lately though, I’ve been in the mood for something more structured in anticipation of warmer, sunnier days. Phillip Lim’s skirt really feel like summer to me: breezy, white, and hits right at the ankle.

After spending the last two months in not much more than leggings and sweats, I am pining for some new fitness gear. I am obsessed with Adam Selman’s studded set that can be worn at home or while dressed up, even with nowhere to go.

I know I’m not alone in saying that I’ve been admiring bridal designer Danielle Frankel since her debut collection. As with all her pieces, this pearl-strung belt is special, nuptials or not.

Despite the state of my pedicure, I’m still opting for open toed shoes as the weather is just beginning to consistently warm up. These printed silk sandals feel like a nice transition from the silk slippers I’ve been wearing around the house.

I’m quarantined in South Florida and I did not bring any warm-weather clothes with (big mistake, I know!) To beat the Florida heat, I am eyeing this lightweight bralette from Victor Glemaud to wear around the house and the occasional grocery run.

This dress by Alejandra Alonso Rojas is both beautiful and memorable for me. It was such a pleasure working on this dress with her when we shot Kim, and I was thrilled when she put it into production. So excited to now be able to buy it myself.

I also can never get enough of the clean lines of a Hunting Season bag. This one is timeless. Just added to cart.

The perfect warm-weather top to pair with linen pants or a white jean. Wear it during an al fresco dinner, or hey, to your next meeting. You don’t need an occasion to make a statement.

Nostalgic but not old fashioned, charming but not cutesy, these playful polka dot sandals somehow simultaneously evoke vintage and au currant Americana. Plus, they’re slip on-flats—aka the perfect accessory for a laid back summer.

I love everything Jonathan Cohen does with florals and have been itching to try the patchwork trend for a few months now. The sharp pencil silhouette is a nice contrast to the boho print, too. I’d probably wear it with a muscle tee and Birkenstocks as the weather heats up, but it would be fab in the fall with a cozy knit or a blazer, too.

I have a few pairs of Brock Collection’s signature Wright jeans, but they’re so good that I'm eyeing this dark-wash pair, too. They’re quite literally the perfect jeans, at least to me. Mid-rise, straight leg, non-stretch, zero distressing—I always come back to them. (Also: They run a bit small, so size up!)
