1.Anne Hathaway:
Opinion: Anne Hathaway is a try-hard.
Back in 2013, Anne Hathaway took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Fantine in Les Miserables. I personally thought she 100% deserved the award — like, hello, her rendition of "I Dreamed A Dream" lives rent free in my mind to this very day — but after her win, she was the target of a lot of Hatha-hate for being a "try hard." Like, when you look back, people were really mad that she was excited about getting recognition for a job well done??? C'mon, people.
Tell me this wasn't worthy of an Oscar. I dare you!
2.Megan Fox:
Opinion: Meg Fox isn't all that because she's hot.
Since Megan Fox stepped out onto the scene, she's been sexualized by almost everyone in Hollywood. Let us not forget the open letter that three anonymous cowards wrote about Megan's actions on the set of Transformers — I believe the term "unfriendly bitch" was thrown around — or the Wonderland interview that boiled her career up until that point down to "being hot", or the Jimmy Kimmel interview where she revealed that Michael Bay dressed her in a barely-there bikini when she was 15 years old...should I keep going?

Opinion: Jackie Aina always makes it about race.
Jackie Aina is one of the loudest voices in the beauty community fighting for diversity, especially for dark skinned individuals. Jackie is also not one to shy away from calling people out for their problematic actions and holding them accountable — one of those being Jeffree Starr. After she called him out for his racist behavior, she was unofficially blackballed from the beauty community and shunned by fellow beauty gurus. Only recently did people realize she was right along along for publicly condemning Jeffree's racist actions.
Better late than never!

Opinion: Naomi Campbell is rude.
Naomi Campbell is one of THE top models of all time and has been in the spotlight over the past four decades. While I am not dismissing the legal issues she's had in the past, I will highlight the higher standard she's been held to as a top model and the flack she's caught for being rude and cold, and other coded terms to describe Black women in the industry. Naomi didn't sign up to be Miss Congeniality! She signed up to slay runway walks and serve in photoshoots, not to mention her ongoing mentorship of young, dark skinned models, and support of Black and African owned companies.

Opinion: Janet Jackson's wardrobe altercation was her fault.
Only in recent years has the media come around to how horribly Janet was treated after Nipplegate — how her body was exposed to the world against her will, got blackballed, and became a punchline for over a decade since the incident occurred.

Opinion: Kristen Stewart deserved the public harassment she received.
While I don't condone cheating, I especially do not condone bullying. Back in 2012, Kristen Stewart was photographed with her Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders — she was 21 years old to his 40 years old — while dating Robert Pattinson. It obviously wasn't the best of looks, but the public tore her to shreds over what should have been a private matter. It wasn't long ago when our former Commander in Chief Donald Trump PUBLICLY TWEETED ABOUT HER ACTIONS! LIKE IT WAS ANY OF HIS BUSINESS!

7.Princess Diana:
Opinion: Princess Diana was lucky that she was princess and shouldn't have had anything to worry about.
After the success of Spencer, the media has looked back at the treatment of Princess Diana and the scrutiny she faced from the UK tabloids — how she was judged for her disordered eating, mental health struggles, and self harming instead of given the help she deserved.
8.Megan Markle:
Opinion: Meghan Markle has nothing to complain about.
Much like Princess Diana, Duchess Megan was scrutinized by the UK tabloids, with the added racist discourse. Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan left the Royal family due to their treatment of her and their son, Archie. "...What I was seeing was history repeating itself, but more, perhaps, or definitely far more dangerous, because then you add race in, and you add social media in," Prince Harry revealed to Oprah in his joint interview with Meghan. "And when I'm talking about history repeating itself, I'm talking about [Princess Diana]."

Opinion: Britney Spears deserves the double-standard treatment.
Even though she's now #Freed, even BEFORE her conservatorship, Britney's name was dragged through the mud — especially after her public breakup with Justin Timberlake. Much like Kristen Stewart, she was publicly crucified for actions that should have remained private.

Opinion: Jean Seberg should have kept quiet and not gotten involved in social issues.
This one is a bit of a deep cut, but back in the '60s, Jean Seberg — an American actor who was making huge strides in French cinema — donated money to help the NAACP and Native American school groups and, most notably, the Black Panther Party. After her support for these minority groups went public, she became the subject of the COINTELPRO project. Under this project — which was approved by J. Edgar Hoover — Jean was defamed, harassed, and discredited publicly and privately. While nothing was confirmed, the ongoing abuse she faced while under FBI's surveillance was assumed to be connected to her probable suicide. All because she had a sympathetic heart and wanted to help.

Opinion: Monica Lewinsky ruined President Clinton's career and marriage.
If this is the first time you're seeing this name, lemme give you a quick rundown: when Monica was 22 years old, she had an affair with President Bill Clinton which resulted in his impeachment trial and her public scrutiny and obliteration of her character. I've made it pretty clear already that I don't condone cheating, but her treatment in the public eye was truly appalling — and I'm not even getting into the sexual coercion of it all (seeing as how she was fresh out of college and he was the Commander in Chief.)
12.Serena Williams:
Opinion: Serena Williams was out of line.
It's a known fact that Serena Williams is one of the greatest athletes of all time, however she is not treated like her white/male counterparts. Namely, when she got upset during the US Open, when she claimed that the umpire was a "thief" and a "liar." Also, when her tennis outfits were banned even though she needed to wear compression pants for medical reasons. I can name a hundred and one athletes who have acted a million times worse than Serena did and haven't received 1% of the criticism that she has.
13.The Chicks:
Opinion: The Chicks shouldn't use their platform to talk about politics.
The country trio — formerly known as The Dixie Chicks — condemned President Bush's invasion of Iraq back in 2003 and were almost immediately banned from radios stations and blackballed in the United States. Despite there being a little thing called the First Amendment, The Chicks' entire musical career was derailed due to them expressing their opinion.
14.Sinéad O'Connor:
Opinion: Sinéad O'Connor was wrong for speaking up.
Similar to The Chicks, Sinéad used a performance to make a political point. Back in 1992, during a performance on Saturday Night Live, Sinéad ripped up a photo of Pope John Paul II and criticized the alleged — and at a later date, proven — sexual assault of children in the Catholic church. The backlash was almost immediate; the following week, Joe Pesci commented on this during his opening monologue, stating that he would have given her a "smack" had it been his show.

Opinion: Winona Ryder deserved to be punished even after her time was served.
Back in the early 2000s, Winona Ryder went through some legal trouble — there was the shoplifting and the incident with the prescription drugs — however, even after she moved past that, that stigma stayed with her for nearly two decades after those events took place.

Opinion: Priyanka Chopra shares too much about her relationship with Nick Jonas.
Back in 2018, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married, but from the moment they went public at the 2017 Met Gala, their relationship has been under immense scrutiny, largely due to their age difference. There's constant speculation about the legitimacy of their relationship — whether its for PR or if it's legitimate — not to mention the racist backlash Priyanka has faced since going public with Nick.

Opinion: Rebecca Black deserved to be bullied because "Friday" was a bad song that her parents paid for.
In 2011, Rebecca Black released the song "Friday" that seemingly went viral overnight, and critically panned as a bad song (despite it lowkey being a bop and covered on Glee) and a 13-year-old Rebecca was relentlessly cyber-bullied for the song by people of all ages, who seemed to forget that she was a little girl when this song released.
18.Lastly, Simone Biles:
Opinion: Simone Biles' success is unfair to others.
Similar to Serena Williams, Simone is one of the greatest athletes of all time, and instead of applauding her many, many, MANY accolades and accomplishments, she's punished by having her elements scored lower than what they're worth and when she pulled out of the Team Final for mental health reasons, a lot of celebs and athletes supported her decision, but a lot of regular Americans were upset that she "let America down."
