While it's fun to ship your favorite TV and movie characters, it's even better getting to ship them in real life. Several stars from shows like Riverdale, Stranger Things, and even DCOMs have taken their onscreen relationships, offscreen. Of course, dating in Hollywood always comes with drama, so several of these couples who became a thing after working together, unfortunately, aren't dating anymore.

So, while you curse the fact you're not currently dating Cole Sprouse or Camila Mendes — hey, maybe it'll happen one day! — check out which of your faves have dated or are currently dating each other.

1. Olivia Rodrigo and Joshua Bassett

The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series co-stars were rumored to be dating, before allegedly breaking up. Fans believed Olivia's song, "Drivers License," was about her relationship and breakup with Joshua, and how he's supposedly moved on with fellow Disney Channel star, Sabrina Carpenter.

2. Olivia Rodrigo and Ethan Wacker

Before Olivia was allegedly with Joshua, she dated her Bizaardvark co-star, Ethan. J-14 reported the couple probably started secretly dating in July 2018, going public with their relationship half a year later. However, the couple seemingly called it quits by August 2019.

In January 2021, during the height of the "Drivers License" craze, one person on TikTok wondered if the song was actually about Ethan, not Joshua. Ethan denied it, commenting, "Nope. I treated her well."

3. Aimee Lou Wood and Connor Swindells

They played a couple on season 1 of Sex Education and are now dating IRL. BuzzFeed reported that Aimee made them Instagram official in September 2018, posting a mushy and adorable caption for Connor's birthday. How adorable are they?!

Reggie and Veronica from Riverdale started dating and became Instagram official in 2018. Camila even gave fans a cute ship name to use: Charmila. The duo have been super cute on social media, and their co-stars love to kid them about their relationship.

Unfortunately, they reportedly broke up in 2019.

5. David Lambert and Meg DeLacy

Brandon and Grace from The Fosters may have had a (spoiler) super sad ending, but the actors' relationship is still going strong. They hang out in Paris together and share cute PDA on Instagram. We're here for it.

6. Kimberly J. Brown and Daniel Kountz

After months of speculation, the Halloweentown II: Kalabar's Revenge stars finally made their relationship Instagram official in July 2018. The duo worked together on a few short films on Kimberly's YouTube channel, including a follow-up story for Daniel's Halloweentown character, Kal.

The actors totally charmed audiences as Elle and Noah in Netflix's 2018 hit, The Kissing Booth, but they really gained fans' adoration when people learned they were actually dating IRL. In November 2018, however, many fans believed the duo broke up. When Jacob took a social media break by deleting his Instagram, Joey tweeted, "thank god I have my dog tho," a few days later.

8. Jared Padalecki and Genevieve Padalecki

The now-married couple with three precious kiddos met on the set of Supernatural, playing monster hunter Sam Winchester and demon Ruby, respectively. "I thought she was cute and smart and would always read books ... I thought she was awesome," Jared told Kelly Ripa in 2016 about meeting Genevieve during Season 4 of the long-running CW show.

9. Cole Sprouse and Lili Reinhart

Cole and Lili met on the set of Riverdale and real life quickly seemed to imitate art when the actors, who play lovers Betty and Jughead, started dating in real life. Since they've gotten together, they spent Thanksgiving 2018 with Lili's family in North Carolina, posted topless photos of each other on Instagram, and were just crazy adorable on- and off-camera.

However, in August 2020, Cole confirmed on Instagram that he and Lili broke up. "Lili and I initially separated in January of this year, deciding to more permanently split in March," he wrote on Instagram. "What an incredible experience I had, I’ll always feel lucky and cherish that I had the chance to fall in love. I wish her nothing but the utmost love and happiness moving forward. All I’ll say about it, anything else you hear doesn’t matter."

10. Brenda Song and Macaulay Culkin

The Suite Life and Home Alone stars — who starred in the comedy-drama Changeland with Seth Green — were rumored to be dating back in September 2017, and now are officially together. During Summer 2018, Macaulay shared on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, "This one’s a good one, so I’m probably going to put some babies in her in a little bit ... I mean, we’ve definitely been practicing." In November 2018, he joked on The Tonight Show about watching Home Alone with his girlfriend.

In April 2021, the couple welcomed their first child together, Dakota Song Culkin.

11. Dove Cameron and Thomas Doherty

Dove had just ended things with her Liv and Maddie co-star boyfriend, Ryan McCartan, when she fell head over heels for Descendants 2 co-star, Thomas Doherty. With his Scottish accent and his villainous guyliner, can you blame her? In November 2018, Dove shared a screenshot of two sweet texts Thomas sent her, captioning the pic, "love of my life."

However, they eventually broke up in October 2020, and it was a mutual decision.

12. Natalia Dyer and Charlie Heaton

One minute, Stranger Things fans were shipping Nancy with Jonathan on the hit Netflix show, and the next minute, they were shipping them in real life, too, when the pair was spotted out and about looking casually adorable and cuddly. In September 2018, they made their Emmys couple debut.

13. Jace Norman and Isabela Moner

Being a Nickelodeon star is like going to high school in that you're always developing crushes on your classmates co-stars. So, it was no surprise when after starring in Splitting Adam together on the children's network, Jace and Isabela remained friends and eventually started dating. Sadly, the relationship didn't last very long, but Jace has said they remain friends.

14. Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron

Vanessa and Zac met on the set of High School Musical in 2006 and dated until the end of 2010. You couldn't throw a rock in the late 2000s without accidentally hitting a tabloid with them on the cover, and TBH, we miss those days.

15. Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens

Bet you didn't know these two were an item! They briefly dated in 2011 while filming Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. In this hilarious clip, a reporter asked the pair about their relationship, not realizing they weren't still dating. Vanessa and Josh exchange mortified looks and just barely managed to cobble together a response. They seem like great friends still, which is sweet.

16. Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson

Twilight's plot was romantic enough as it is, but the icing on the cake was knowing Bella Swan and Edward Cullen were together in real life. They met on set in 2008 when Kristen was still dating Michael Angarano. Robsten rumors kicked into high gear at the MTV Movie Awards in May 2009, when Kristen and Rob held hands on the red carpet and teased fans by nearly kissing on stage. Kristen and Michael split shortly after.

After a year of tantalizing the press with their maybe IRL relationship, it was confirmed in May 2010. They split in July 2012, after Kristen was spotted locking lips with director Rupert Sanders. While they briefly seemed to be working things out for the final Twilight press tour, they eventually split for good.

In Summer 2018, Robsten reunited at Lily-Rose Depp's birthday party, but it appeared to have just been as friends.

17. Nina Dobrev and Ian Somerhalder

The Vampire Diaries fans fell head over heels for Ian's portrayal of bad boy vampire Damon, and clearly, Nina felt the same way. Nina and Ian met on set in 2009 and confirmed their relationship in September 2011, but split by May 2012. In a cruel twist of fate, their characters continued to pine for each other on the show for another two years. Nina left TVD behind at the end of season six in 2015, and we can't help but wonder if working daily with her ex, who married Nikki Reed, was part of the reason.

18. Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto

Most co-star couples meet on set, but Paul's starring role on The Vampire Diaries is actually the reason former wife Torrey landed her guest-starring role. The couple divorced in 2013, and her character hasn't been on the show since. Paul rebounded by hooking up with his TVD co-star, Phoebe Tonkin, but their fling never turned into anything serious.

19. Blake Lively and Penn Badgley

Blake and Penn had sizzling chemistry as Dan and Serena on Gossip Girl, but you can't chalk that up solely to their acting chops. They were an item from the start of the series in 2007 until 2010. Although they didn't make it to the altar (Blake married Ryan Reynolds in 2012, whom she co-starred with in Green Lantern), their characters tied the knot in the series finale.

20. Leighton Meester and Sebastian Stan

Leighton met Sebastian when he guest-starred on Gossip Girl in 2007 as a bad boy who gave up his family wealth. They started dating in 2008 and split in 2010. Her single, "Heartstrings," is rumored to be about their breakup. Leighton married The O.C. star Adam Brody in 2014, who happened to date his co-star Rachel Bilson from 2003 to 2006.

21. Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr

The Gossip Girl casting director clearly has a knack for chemistry, because this pair was the third couple to emerge from the show's cast. They both were dating other people when they fell in love in 2008. "It can be a little awkward when all of a sudden [you have feelings for] someone you'd call to talk about a different boyfriend," Jessica once said about her relationship with Ed. But life imitates art, and gossip surrounding a cheating scandal drove Ed and Jessica apart in 2010.

Photos from the set of Hannah Montana: The Movie showed Miley and Lucas looking ~cozy~ in 2009. Lucas later confirmed they dated for two months on set.

23. Taylor Lautner and Lily Collins

Taylor and Lily quietly dated while filming Abduction in 2011... until he called it quits a week before the premiere. So awkward.

The two Taylors dated for three months while filming Valentine's Day in 2009. Maybe they didn't last long because their matching names got confusing? No one knows for sure — they were coy with the press, who only caught them on camera together a handful of times.

25. Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling

Rachel and Ryan were the most romantic onscreen couple of all time as Allie and Noah in The Notebook. But when they first met on set in 2004, they hated each other. They reportedly screamed at each other on set, and Ryan asked to run his lines with another actress. But their initial feelings soon faded away, and they dated on and off until 2009. Fans were holding out that they'd reunite, but now that Ryan has two kids with actress Eva Mendes, that doesn't seem likely.

26. Anna Camp and Skylar Astin

Sparks flew the moment Pitch Perfect co-stars Anna and Skylar met in 2013. Though Skylar played Anna Kendrick's bae in the films, it was Aubrey who stole his heart IRL. The couple married in 2016, and several of their Pitch Perfect family members attended the ceremony.

Unfortunately, they officially divorced in August 2019.

27. Channing Tatum and Amanda Bynes

Channing and Amanda were spotted kissing several times after they finished filming She's the Man in 2006. Shortly after, Channing met Jenna Dewan on the set of dance movie Step Up, and that ended up with marriage and a seriously adorable baby... until they announced their separation in 2018.

28. Emma Roberts and Alex Pettyfer

Emma and Alex met on the set of Wild Child in 2008 and quickly started dating. Alex was so in love that he even tattooed her name on his ring finger. But maybe he should've thought twice before getting a permanent piece of body art because the couple broke up soon after.

29. Alex Pettyfer and Dianna Agron

The I Am Number Four co-stars met on set in 2010 and dated for a year. Alex allegedly got jealous of Dianna's relationship with Sebastian Stan, accusing her of cheating, and the couple soon split.

The Transformers co-stars hooked up on set in 2011, which caused a minor scandal when fans realized she was also dating Brian Austin Green (who she ended up marrying). Later, she explained she and Brian were on a break at the time.
