When it comes to gift giving, for many the idea of spending half our wages on items that our family and friends may never use (or even like), can leave a bit of an 'icky' feeling in the stomach – which is why it's always great to know about brands that are doing good on the side. Step forward: these charitable gift options.

Each one of the brands or products below is tied to a worthy charity, or has signed up to a deserving positive impact pledge, meaning if you buy something from this round-up you'll also be helping out a fantastic cause in the process.

Whether it's fashion, tech, booze, an affordable piece of jewellery or anything else between, these are our top picks of items that'll see a portion of the profits go to charity... and hey, if you're just in the mood to treat yourself to something nice and are looking for a reason to justify it, that works too!

Happy (guilt-free) spending, one and all:

1) The Sparkling Celebration Hamper by Social Supermarket

Social Supermarket is a brand with morals and goodness running through its core, it was created to house hundreds of businesses that are verified as a force for good under one virtual roof, so you can be sure that every purchase made through their site will have a positive impact. As well as having gorgeous pre-made hampers to shop, such as the Sparkling Celebration option (featuring fizz from winemakers committed to to marine conservation), you can also build your own custom hamper for a loved one.

2) Memories On Record T-Shirt by This Is Dementia

Designed by an ex-Burberry staffer, the 'Memories on Record' t-shirt references how powerful music can be for those with dementia (whilst looking cool in the process). Better still, 100% of each sale goes straight back to Dementia UK (as does everything else on the This Is Dementia site). They also have great tote bags on offer if that's more your... bag?

3) Lambswool blanket by the Tartan Blanket Co

Not only is it buttery soft, but this sustainable lambswool blanket is perfect for a) throwing on the bed and instantly conjuring up a Pinterest-worthy space and b) enrobing your entire body whilst watching every Christmas movie known to man. The Tartan Blanket Co also donate 2% of every purchase to humanitarian and environmental charities (last year they committed £60,000 to various organisations including Cool Earth, The Trussell Trust and the NAACP). We love to see it.

4) Scrunchies by The Silk Collection

London-based luxury lifestyle brand, The Silk Collection, pledges to give 10% of every sale to Mind, who provide free mental health information and support to those in need. We love these silks scrunchies, which will reduce breakage and keep your hair happy too.

5) One Vodka

Ethical drinks brand One (best known for One Water) originally launched their first alcoholic offering with a gin on World Water Day in 2017, to further their mission of donating profits to their charitable organisation, the One Foundation – which supports various sustainable water and sanitation services around the world. Flash forward five years, and they've just launched their first vodka (with help from Sion Edwards, an award-winning distiller). It blends do-gooding with fresh sage, zesty citrus notes and a subtle hint of vanilla.

6) Belazu's Luxury Hamper

Known for their high-quality cooking ingredients from the Mediterranean and Middle East (think luxurious oils, vinegars and pastes), the Belazu Luxury Hamper is the perfect gift for the foodie in your life. Better still, the brand donates 3% of profit to the Belazu Foundation and other charitable projects (and thanks to its connections with the catering trade, they also run supper clubs with fancy London eateries to raise further funds). The wannabe chef in your life will be buzzed to find this under the tree.

7) Rhimani

Created back in 2019 by founder Izzy Berner as a side hustle, Rhimani is a jewellery brand that only uses eco-friendly materials, such as glass and sterling silver 925. Every piece is handmade (Izzy now has a select UK-based team) and the brand gives at least 10% of its earnings to projects helping protect endangered species, such as Tusk, the African wildlife charity. Equally as important: as well as doing good, Rhimani's designs look good – their signature beaded necklaces and anklets are perfect for anyone looking to inject some hippy cool into their wardrobe.

8) Cookbook by Beder

Suicide prevention charity, Beder (named after Beder Mirjan, who sadly and unexpectedly took his life in 2017, inspiring his loved ones to create the organisation in his memory), has produced the most beautiful book. It's filled with recipes and reflective anecdotes from notable chefs (such as Gordon Ramsay and Yotam Ottolenghi), bloggers, nutritionists and advocates – all of whom share their personal mental health stories and advice, alongside delicious recipes.

9) Turntable by House of Marley

Created in conjunction with the legendary Bob Marley's family, every bit of tech that House of Marley sells results in a tree being planted by One Tree Planted. They also make great headphones, should this as-sustainably-made-as-possible record spinner not be calling your name (which tbh we'd find surprising).

10) Charitable gift card by Oxfam

Oxfam sell a great variety of charitable gift cards, which explain where your money is actually going – the Ray Of Sunshine card, for instance, directly helps Oxfam's climate justice work and gender equality agenda in tandem, by supporting a female caretaker who works on her community's solar-powered water pump. Work which is sadly ever-more vital given the worrying rate of climate change.

11) Charms by Recognised

Known on the site as 'Popons', all of the profits from these pendants (suitable for bracelets or necklaces) go straight to charities supporting people through cancer: Look Good Feel Better and Maggie's. Recognised also have Popons to support Mental Health, Motherhood, the effort against COVID-19, Solidarity, and to help end Modern Slavery

12) Watches by Nordgreen

Every customer is given the option to donate part of the money from their purchase to one of three NGOs that Nordgreen have partnered with (they include rainforest-protecting Cool Earth, Pratham UK who educate children in India and Water For Good, providing clean water in the Central African Republic). Plus the watch designs are super slick and Scandi chic.

13) TOMS shoes

As a brand, TOMS are big believers in giving back to grassroots projects – and put their money where their mouth is by donating a third of all profits to community-focussed efforts. Having expanded outside of their original espadrilles range (you know the ones!), the shoemakers now do everything from these to-die-for boots to fluffy slippers.

14) Books from Cancer Research

The Cancer Research shop has a lovely collection of wellness-focussed books (amongst many other things) that see 100% of the profits donated towards life-saving research and caring for those who are unwell.

15) Plant pot by Save The Children

Every product on the Save The Children shop (which also sells puzzles, candles and other homely bits) sees 100% of every sale go towards helping change the lives of children across the world. How could you not be charmed by this cute plant pot?

16) Yoga mat by Barnardo's

All of the profits from any product purchased on the Barnardo's website will go towards helping vulnerable and disadvantaged children in the UK. We've especially got our eye on this bio rubber yoga mat, which also comes complete with a carry bag.

17) Swim shorts from Randy Cow

Okay, so not only are the snazzy designs at Randy Cow eye-catching (and fear not, if they're a bit too eye-catching for your tastes, plain colour options are also available) but these swim shorts also come with a clever waterproof pocket for your phone. Oh, and the brand are proud members of '1% for the Planet', an organisation dedicated to helping various eco causes and fighting greenwashing.

18) AllSaints Black Minds Matter collection

Designed by AllSaints staffer, Mason Kane Thomas, who won an internal competition, all profits from the brand's collection (made up of an anti-racism t-shirt and tote) will be donated to the UK mental health charity Black Minds Matter, which works hard to support good mental health within Black communities and provide access to Black therapists.

19) Royal British Legion's Poppy Gin

The Royal British Legion does incredible work to support those currently serving in the Armed Forces, their families, and veterans – and anything purchased via their Poppy Shop sees 100% of the profits donated back to the charity. They've got everything from dog collars to booze on there, so there really is something for all the family (pets included!).

20) Le Chameau Iris Rose Garden Chelsea Boots

Any country-dweller or lover of the great outdoors probably has a pair of Le Chameau waterproof boots on their wish-list – and this rose-coloured pair is top of ours, thanks to them seeing 10% of profits going to the Lady Garden Foundation (which raises funds for gynaecological health, to help reduce the diagnoses and devastating outcomes of gynaecological cancers). The ideal gift for a mum or sister who loves gardening.
