Sometimes celebrities get scrutinized for doing nothing more than being human and living their life. The difference between us and them is that when we make a mistake, there aren't millions of people watching, waiting, and ready to give their opinion on our lives... Therefore I think sometimes we are a little too harsh on the celebrities that spend their lives entertaining us. Furthermore, without further ado, here are some celebrities that get way more hate than they deserve.
1. LeBron James LeBron James is considered basketball's "GOAT" in a lot of conversations held by fans. Plus, because of his athleticism and longevity in the NBA, he's arguably one of the most incredible athletes of all time. Physically he's an unstoppable force, and mentally he's as intelligent as most coaches. Therefore, when you're as good as LeBron is, you're going to have a lot of haters.
The most obvious reason is that when his team wins, your team loses. Unfortunately, if you aren't a fan of his team at the time, this happens often. But you've got to respect the guy and appreciate his greatness while he is still here. LeBron is entering his 18th season, and the guy is still breaking records with no telling of how many more he will break or for how much longer.
Although there's a lot of great talent in the NBA right now and the future of the league is in good hands, there will never be another LeBron James. I hope we get to see him and LeBron Raymone "Bronny" James Jr. play together or against each other and become the first father-son duo to play in the NBA at the same time.
Andy Lyons / Getty Images 2. Wyatt Russell Talk about hating someone simply because they are too good at their job. This one was pretty easy because I also found myself heavily disliking John Walker, aka the "Fake" Captain America, played by a highly convincing Wyatt Russell . The first season of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is full of controversy thanks to fans quickly rushing to Twitter, Facebook, or other social media platforms about how much they hate the “New” Captain America.
Poor Wyatt Russell gets hate left and right because people can’t differentiate his acting on the show and reality. Fortunately, he had a slight redemption at the end of Season 1, and the mantle of Captain America went to who it was supposed to, so fans sort of just forgave Russell, for now. Plus, he gets to play a US Agent.
Randy Holmes / ABC via Getty Images 3. Lil Nas X People don't like Lil Nas X simply because he's different, and people fear things they don't understand, so they express their confusion by hating on him. He's a male bisexual African American country rapper. According to some close-minded individuals, those things aren't supposed to mix. I disagree. Queer people also listen to rap/country music, queer rap/country artists do exist, and African Americans are also allowed to like country music.
I think Lil Nas X is very necessary. I think he is artistically expressing himself and giving his fans what they want while strategically making people feel uncomfortable enough to talk about him. This allows free marketing for his music and opens up the conversation about queer culture, which is good for the LGBTQ community.
Gary Miller / Getty Images 4. Lena Headey Here's another celebrity that's just way too good at their job. The remarkably talented and beautiful Lena Headey signed on to be hated throughout history when she decided to play the sinister Cersei Lannister in the successful HBO series Game of Thrones . People find her character's actions to be highly repulsive, and therefore, they sometimes blur the lines between reality and great acting once again.
As a result, people find themselves hating Lena in real life. But it's just a show. She's not like that in real life; she considers herself a shy person and has a humorous side that she hopes to portray in future comedy films. According to her résumé and her acting skills, I think she can successfully pull that off or any other role she chooses.
HBO It's time to stop hating on Kim for her past or accusing her of being famous for nothing. Everyone makes mistakes when they're young and other people are celebrities for less. As a result of her and her family's strategic planning and execution, she is one of the highest-paid reality TV stars thanks to her successful hit show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians .
She is a successful business owner of clothing lines and beauty products like Skims, KKW Beauty, and Dash Boutique. Kim Kardashian campaigned and successfully helped free Alice Marie Johnson after 19 years of imprisonment. Alice is a 64-year-old woman sentenced to life in prison for her minuscule part in an illegal drug trade back in 1996. Kim is where she is because she is an intelligent businesswoman, and that is her skill. It also helps that she's gorgeous. So enough with the hate — I think it's about time we give credit where it's due.
Robert Kamau / GC Images / Getty Images 6. Odell Beckham Jr. Odell Beckham Jr. gets more hate than he deserves. People don't like him because of rumors and scandals concerning peculiar behavior that's most likely not even true. The guy goes above and beyond for his fans and is a freak of nature when it comes to the sport of football.
Some people think he overreacts sometimes, but I say the guy is just passionate about the game, and he really just wants to win. I'm glad he signed with a team that has the potential to win it all with the Rams, silences his haters, and gets his ring.
Patrick Mcdermott / Getty Images 7. Andrew Garfield I don't understand this one. People hate Andrew Garfield because they think he was the worst Spider-Man in recent history, suggesting that Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland's performances surpass Garfield's. I disagree. Andrew Garfield's performance in both Amazing Spider-Man movies was excellent and underrated. Not to take anything away from any actor, but Tobey had the advantage of being the first, allowing him to set the standard without any unprecedented expectations. Then, of course, Tom Holland's Spider-Man not only has Tobey or Garfield's portrayals to learn from, but he also has the significant backing of the MCU.
I think it's time we give Garfield a break and understand that he delivered memorable performances, which I believe deserved a third Amazing Spider-Man movie. Furthermore, I hope we see him make an appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home or another Marvel sequel so he can have another opportunity to quiet his critics once and for all.
Phillip Faraone / FilmMagic / Getty Images 8. Tyler Perry There are some people out there that hate Tyler Perry because he is a Black man that came from nothing and worked his way up Hollywood's ladder to become successful. Others don't like him because of the way he depicts Black people in certain roles in his films. They believe some of the roles invoke long-standing stereotypes, especially his portrayals of Black women. Although I agree that this could potentially be true, it isn't like there weren't positive depictions of Black women and men as well.
No matter your nationality, a lot of us go through the situations illustrated in his films and can relate to the family dynamics in them, which proves that the content is kind of relatable. Therefore we should celebrate him because he does in fact show people of color in all their facets through the stories he writes. This has enabled common threads to be shared universally amongst people of color and anyone else.
Handout / A.M.P.A.S. via Getty Images 9. Taylor Swift Taylor Swift gets way more hate than she deserves. I don't get why people hate on such a nice person. Some people don't like her because of her feud with Kanye West, when really she was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I mean, whoever won that award over Beyoncé was in trouble no matter what.
Then there are other people that hate her simply because they don't like her music. But the truth is that Taylor Swift is the type of artist that if you tweet her to come and sing at your wedding, there's a high possibility she will surprise you by showing up free of charge. A lot of our favorite artists can't say that.
Dimitrios Kambouris / Getty Images 10. Robert Pattinson Some people don't like Robert Pattinson because they're horror fans who can't stand the Twilight movie series for glittering up their usually ferocious-looking precious vampires. Other people hate him simply because of how much their girlfriend finds him attractive. Regardless, we know that the guy is hated for being well liked and talented, which ironically are the reasons for his success.
Furthermore, we all know that a celebrity's career can reach new heights once they land a superhero role because comic book films have taken over the cinematic industry. In today's age, comic book films are usually the most successful and highest-grossing films. Therefore, considering the rigorous workout regimes coupled with the intense mental energy it takes playing the complex mind of Bruce Wayne, Pattinson's upcoming role as The Batman should gain him some street cred. It should also help him get recognized as a versatile actor capable of more than his work as Edward in Twilight.
Emma Mcintyre / Getty Images 11. Wesley Snipes Speaking of superhero roles and comic book films, people that don't like Wesley Snipes don't even know why they don't like Wesley Snipes. I mean, seriously, this is the same man responsible for the first modern Marvel movie, Blade . Therefore, without the success of Wesley Snipes' incredible acting in Blade , there would be no Marvel Cinematic Universe today. Thanks to my neighbor John, who was Wesley Snipes' manager at the time, I met him in 2004 in Wanaque, New Jersey, and he was nothing but kind to me.
Furthermore, from the Blade movie series to his iconic roles in New Jack City, Passenger 57, White Men Can't Jump, Murder at 1600, Demolition Man, Money Train , and more, Snipes deserves his roses now, and we need to give them to him while he's still here.
New Line Cinema 12. Keanu Reeves Can you believe there are people out there that hate Keanu Reeves? Listen, Keanu Reeves is the man and an actor of the people. Don't believe me? Just google "All the times Keanu Reeves was nice," or "How is Keanu Reeves nice." If you're still not convinced, try searching "Is Keanu Reeves nice," and see for yourself why this man needs his flowers now.
Keanu Reeves deserves the awesome resurgence in his career that he has had in the past few years. From the incredible John Wick movie series, the recent Bill and Ted sequel, to the new Matrix Resurrection s movie being released soon, Keanu Reeves needs to be appreciated for making our childhood amazing and returning to do it again in our adulthood. How could you not love the guy?
The Matrix Resurrections / Warner Bros / Via youtube.com 13. Soulja Boy I find it odd that people hate Soulja Boy because they think he can't rap very well, or that his flow is mediocre at best, but here's the thing: Many successful rappers aren't known for being lyrical. Besides, that's not Soulja Boy's lane. He is on the song for one purpose only: to make you dance and have a good time. If you're too young to know or too old to care, keep in mind that he was the first rapper to go viral on YouTube thanks to his 2007 hit "Crank That (Soulja Boy)."
All of these dance trends that you see on TikTok are a product of his entire career. "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" made him the first rapper to sell over 3 million units of digital downloads in the US, which was a record at the time. Therefore, the 31-year-old Soulja Boy has earned himself some slack from his haters, considering his influence on hip-hop culture.
Prince Williams / WireImage / Getty Images 14. Lana Rhoades If you know who this is, I know what you are thinking. Why, I mean, why on earth, can someone possibly hate on the fantastic Lana Rhoades? Simple: because she is beautiful, empowered, and makes a lot of money doing something most people do for free. Lana Rhoades is an adult film actor who has stolen the hearts of men and women worldwide, making her the target for many jealous people.
I think people are envious of her confidence, beauty, and sultry magnetic energy, when instead they should appreciate it. Therefore, hating on her for no reason other than her success in the adult industry only exposes your own insecurities. Besides, just like every other man and woman on the planet, it's her body, and she is allowed to do what she wants with it, period.
Picture Alliance / picture alliance via Getty Images 15. Cardi B Cardi B is way too genuine and keeps it way too real to not have any real haters — it's literally impossible. People who aren't comfortable in their own skin can't stand people who are. The "trap Selena" says and does what she wants when she wants, and because of that men fear her and women envy her. As for the entertainment industry right now, she runs it.
There isn't a hotter name right now than Cardi B who seems to effortlessly continue to break records with just about everything she releases. So she may receive a lot of hate, but she receives a lot more love, and deservingly so. This rap goddess is on top, and it doesn't look like she's slowing down anytime soon.
