Netflix movies are kinda bangers. I'll say it! I make an effort to see them in theaters when possible, but it's nice to know you can always turn on Netflix and have access to good new movies as well as old favorites and hidden gems. I mean... Glass Onion? The Old Guard? Persuasion? To All The Boys I've Loved Before? Those are just some of my personal favorites, but they're *absolute* bangers! I can't wait to see what Netflix has in store for this year. Let's get into the best original movies coming to Netflix in 2023–or, at least, the ones I'm anticipating.

As always, Netflix original movies are a good mix of awards bait from Film Twitter's favorite directors as well as rom-coms you'll happily throw on in the middle of the afternoon while doing randoms chores. There are also action movies coming up this year, regular ol' comedies, and even some animated movies and adaptations of children's books the whole family can enjoy. The only thing I'm missing in this year's lineup is musicals. Where are the musicals this year? We've been so spoiled with tick, tick... BOOM and Matilda. Fingers crossed that something toe-tappingly good will get added to the Netflix slate later in the year.

Anyway, time for the best Netflix original movies of 2023! This is only a fraction of what's coming to Netflix. Here's what looks best so far.
