13 Predictions For "Spider-Man: Freshman Year" That I Want To See Come To Life
Disney has recently announced Spider-Man: Freshman Year, an upcoming animated series on Disney+ that will explore the origins of Tom Holland's Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
While this series has no confirmed release date yet, there are already so many possibilities for what's to come from this new Spider-Man project. These are my top 13 predictions for Spider-Man: Freshman Year.

13.It Will Be Created By What If...?'s Animators
The Marvel Cinematic Universe broke out into the field of animation with the Disney+ series What If...? This hit show became a reality thanks to the combined efforts of multiple animation studios led by Stephan Franck. It wouldn't be a surprise if these animators are assigned to depict Peter's freshman year. The realistic, cel-shaded animation might not be for everyone, but What If...?'s visuals were still a beauty to behold.
12.More Home Movies
The MCU's Spider-Man has shown a knack for making his own films, and we may see more of them in this upcoming series. Though this penchant for filmmaking might initially throw off Peter's peers in his freshman year, we could still see him create multiple videos of himself as Spider-Man that he later posts on the internet, establishing him as a local hero.
11.Peter Meets Harry Osborn
Though it looks like Tom Holland will encounter Tobey Maguire's version of Norman Osborn in No Way Home, that doesn't mean he didn't already encounter his own version of Osborn's family. The MCU's Peter might meet his own variant of Norman's son, Harry, at Midtown High in his first year. Nevertheless, the latter could end up transferring to another school sometime in the series, which would explain his absence from the MCU so far.
10.Peter Lives Through the Battle of New York
One pivotal moment in the MCU was the Battle of New York in The Avengers. Since Peter was a young boy in the Big Apple during this attack, we might get to witness his experience living through such a cataclysmic event. Along with the rise of Earth's Mightiest Heroes, this might even be a driving force toward him becoming Spider-Man in the future.
9.Vulture's Gang Returns
Though it wasn't until Spider-Man: Homecoming that Spidey confronted Vulture and his team of weapons dealers, we might see them play some role in this series. Keep in mind, they began selling alien weaponry long before Peter became Spider-Man. There might be some villains that Spidey faced during his freshman year that used Vulture's products without him knowing how they got it.
8.No Costarring Guest Avengers
One big complaint people have had about the MCU's Spider-Man is that he is too often connected to Avengers alumni like Iron Man, Nick Fury, and Doctor Strange, and Marvel might remedy that with this pre–Civil War series. Part of Spidey's appeal is that he's a small-town hero who fights crime on his own with the resources he has instead of the ones given to him by superhero bigwigs. While he has received help from them on occasion in the comics, the fact that he frequently relies on these heroes and makes mentors out of them takes away the independence and relatability that made him popular with fans.
7.Peter Makes His First Suit
Before Peter Parker met Tony Stark, he relied on what little he had to be Spider-Man. This included making his own suit, which included a red and blue sweatsuit and some creepy, homemade goggles. As we see Peter slowly become the wise-cracking wall-crawler, we might have a sequence of him making his first suit, showing how he first became a hero on his own.
6.We Meet More Of The Sinister Six
The mid-credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming showed Michael Mando's Scorpion mentioning to Vulture that he knows some people with vendettas against the wall-crawler. This has long been suspected to be a setup for the MCU's Sinister Six (or a variant of it, based on No Way Home). So, we might get to see Peter battling these crooks that Scorpion mentioned, giving them a reason to have beef with him.
5.More J. Jonah Jameson
Spider-Man: Far From Home brought the show-stopping return of J.K. Simmons' J. Jonah Jameson, and fans want more of him. Though this monumental mid-credits scene might be the start of him defaming the hero's reputation, we may get to see more of him slandering the web-slinger when he started off as a crime fighter.
4.Peter Saves That Bus
In Captain America: Civil War, we see that Tony Stark acquired footage of Spider-Man stopping crime and saving lives, which include him catching a car before it crashes into a bus. This footage ultimately led him to find and recruit Peter, so we may finally get a closer look at the incidents that made Tom Holland's Spider-Man famous in the MCU.
3.Peter Meets Ned
Right now, we don't know how Peter met his long-time bud Ned, so perhaps this series will show the pair during their first year at Midtown High. Ned might find a kinship with Peter's wallflower behavior before he gained his powers. Perhaps we'll even see them make more Star Wars Legos together.
2.We See The Spider Bite Peter
So far, the MCU has glossed over Peter Parker's origins as Spider-Man, as we've already seen it a bajillion times before. Despite this, we should now be able to learn about how Peter got his powers and how he learned to use them. The spider that bit him could've once again been created by Oscorp, or by some other scientific organization with a greater role in the MCU.
1.Uncle Ben Dies
We all dreaded having to see this again. After seeing Peter's Uncle Ben dying twice on film before, we still might see how the MCU's version of him met his end. We already heard Spider-Man namedrop his uncle in Marvel's What If…?, so it's about time we met the man who helped create Spider-Man.
