When the clock struck midnight on November 1st, Mariah Carey defrosted and belted out the chorus of All I Want For Christmas Is You, informing all of Instagram that the most wonderful time of the year had officially begun. Sure, Thanksgiving is still next in line on the calendar, but it's no secret clothes are hardly the focus of the food-centric holiday. Christmas, Hanukkah, and Kwanza, on the other hand? Those require cute outfits for family photos — and, more importantly, holiday pajamas that say "bedtime, but make it festive."
For some people, holiday pajamas take precedence over formal dinner attire, and brands have caught on in recent years. Supply and demand for festive loungewear was particularly high during the 2020 holiday season, when families opted to forego travel plans in favor of staying home and healthy amidst the pandemic. Personally, I love going all-out and dressing in my cutest holiday outfits — which typically involve heels and a full face of makeup — but if the past two years have taught me anything, it's that wearing pajamas is 100% socially acceptable under virtually any circumstance. Lounging around the house, taking office zoom calls, and especially celebrating the holidays on your couch can all be done in a sweet, comfy set.

From seasonal color schemes to wintery prints, matching family sets, and festive lingerie, there exists a pair appropriate for virtually every celebration. Granted, the majority of holiday pajamas on the market are super corny and designed with a very specific occasion in mind so, chances are, you'll only wear them once or twice out of 365 days.
