The Fast X trailer is a classic the family is all here, plus one new crazy guy! celebration of the Fast & Furious franchise. Sure, there's no Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson (yet), but something tells me that we may get him back for the final installment. The way that the upcoming tenth film has been presented, fans may be mistaken for thinking that Fast X is their final drive into the sunset—but there's actually going to be one more film after their adventure this summer. The Fast team is billing films 10 and 11 as a two-part finale. (Much like Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame—even though Marvel was clearly far from ever stopping there). Until that last ride, here's everything we know about the end of the Fast saga.

Who Is Directing Fast 11?

Louis Leterrier, known for creating The Transporter franchise with Jason Statham, will helm both Fast X and the eventual Fast & Furious 11. Leterrier took over after Fast 9 director Justin Lin left the project in April 2022 due to creative differences. Lin arguably saved the franchise and the movies at large when Fast 9: The Fast Saga opened in theaters just as case numbers for the Covid-19 pandemic declined countrywide. Leterrier is also known for the magical heist film Now You See Me and Netflix's Lupin series.

"Louis joined the Fast & Furious team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades," Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer told Variety. "Under his direction, Fast X is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some. We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair." Having a positive relationship with Statham surely helps as well.

"This one is big," Leterrier teased to Empire, as if the previous installments in the series were small. "You know, I don't want to oversell it, but what we're planning on the next one is just gigantic, in terms of action, scope and emotion. You will feel all the feels. Tears will roll."

Who Will Star in Fast 11?

So far, mostly everyone who has appeared in a Fast & Furious film is scheduled to return for the grand finale. We'll have Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, John Cena, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and even Cardi B. Plus, we'll have to wait and see if Fast X newcomers Jason Momoa, Brie Larson, and Rita Moreno will return. After disagreements with Vin Diesel, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson stated that he would not be returning for any more Fast films, but hearts can hope and minds can change.

What Will Fast 11 Be Named?

Though we've tentatively been calling the final film either Fast 11 or Fast & Furious 11, the reality is that there's no way it will have either title. The Fast & The Furious franchise has never kept a naming convention through its releases, going from the original The Fast and the Furious to 2 Fast 2 Furious, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, Fast & Furious, Fast Five, Fast & Furious 6, Furious 7, The Fate of the Furious, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, F9: The Fast Saga, and most recently, Fast X.

Since we've pretty much run through every option for numbers, my guess is that "11" won't be in the title at all. We've already tried using the number (Fast & Furious 6), spelling it out (Fast Five), and switching to roman numerals (Fast X). Others, like F9: The Fast Saga, are truly inspired. Many fans were also disappointed that the 10th film was not called Fas10 Your Seatbelts, but the Fast team was reportedly not into the joke. Here's some suggestions I came up with, below. Vin Diesel, please feel free to use any of these:

  • Fast and Furious: Last Ride

  • Fast Finale

  • Finally Fast, Finally Furious

  • Fast and Furious, the 11th

  • The End of the Road: A Fast Goodbye

  • The Furious and the Fast

  • Fast/Furious

  • The Fast: Finished

  • F1st & Fur1ous

  • Furious to the End

  • Fast & Family

Fast X premieres in theaters on May 19, 2023. No release date has been set for Fast 11 just yet—probably because they're still figuring out which one of my names to choose.
