This weekend marks the 13th annual Bushwick Open Studios, a "self-organized, collaborative festival" in which hundreds of Brooklyn artists open their studios and present art in various formats to the public. To mark the occasion, we took to the streets to ask an important question: what shoes do you make art in? Bushwick's youthful, thriving art scene responded with a variety of standby kicks, from hefty boots and agile sandals to two (!) different pairs of Crocs. We can't promise you'll channel the same creativity as Brooklyn's next great painters, but snag one of these pairs and you'll at least look like an artist—and that's half the battle, isn't it?
