Costco is the members-only warehouse that is stacked to the ceiling with groceries to use every day, household staples to stock up on just once a year, and impossibly cheap food-court finds. With summer quickly approaching, it’s time to stock up on snacks for the season. Even at Costco, where the register’s tally can quickly rise higher than the outside temperatures, it is possible to find budget-friendly snacks for sharing.

Popsicles and ice cream bars are taking a backseat this year now that I’ve finally tried TrüFrü White & Milk Chocolate Frozen Strawberries. These “hyper-chilled” chocolate and fruit treats are decadent, delicious, and cost just $11 for a generous bag.

What’s So Great About TrüFrü White & Milk Chocolate Frozen Strawberries?

Chocolate-covered strawberries are a classic sweet treat made from fresh fruit coated in a chocolate shell. I usually think of chocolate and strawberries during Valentine’s Day, but the TrüFrü ones are made for summer snacking. The bite-sized berries are made with just-picked strawberries that are flash-frozen at the peak of freshness. The strawberries are then double-dipped in creamy white chocolate and rich milk chocolate, and frozen again.

I’ve been eating the chocolate-dipped strawberries straight from the freezer when the fruit is icy and refreshing and the chocolate slowly melts, but you can also let them sit at room temperature so that the fruit thaws slightly to an almost sorbet-like consistency.

Costco sells a large, 20-ounce, bag for just under $11. That’s about 60 chilled chocolate-covered strawberries to snack on during hot summer afternoons or to toss into the cooler for a gas station snack alternative for this year’s road trip adventures.

If you aren’t a Costco member … what’s stopping you? I’ve been a member for over 12 years and have no plans to cancel. But until you take the objectively delightful plunge, you can pick up TrüFrü White & Milk Chocolate Frozen Strawberries from your local grocery store for just a few dollars more.
