Directed by horror movie legend M. Night Shyamalan, this movie stars singer/actor extraordinaire Jonathan Groff AND Rupert Grint (aka Ron Weasley). It’s based on the book The Cabin at the End of the World, which is about a family on vacation at a secluded cabin who is taken hostage by four strangers demanding a sacrifice to prevent the apocalypse. Yikes!

3) ‘Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey’
This low-budget indie film gained so much attention after it was unveiled in early 2022 that it’s now going to be released all over the world. Basically, the premise is that Christopher Robin grew up, abandoned his forest pals, and now Pooh and Piglet have become unhinged serial killers and are going after Christopher and his grown-up friends.

4) ‘Scream VI’
That’s right! ANOTHER Scream movie is coming your way. Jenna Ortega (who seems to be everywhere these days in the best of ways) will be reprising her role, as will Courteney Cox and Hayden Panettiere. In this movie, Ghostface’s survivors are all trying to get away from the murderous masked person but—surprise, surprise—it doesn’t exactly work.

Based on the Stephen King novel by the same name, this movie’s about a writer who heads back to his childhood home looking for some new content inspo. But instead of finding something fun and uplifting, he finds the town being preyed on by a vampire.

7) ‘Cuckoo’
You can sign me up no questions asked for any project with Hunter Schafer in it. But in case you need a bit more convincing, this movie also stars Dan Stevens and Jessica Henwick. The plot is being kept heavily under wraps but is rumored to be about a 17-year-old girl who moves to a resort with her family where things are...not okay.

8) 'The Exorcist'
Scheduled to come out 50 (!!) years after the 1973 classic The Exorcist, the new movie will be a direct sequel. It’s the first in a trilogy, and Ellen Burstyn will be returning to reprise her role of Chris MacNeil. Although plot details are still largely unknown, the first movie is said to revolve around a father of a possessed child who seeks out Chris for help.

10) ‘The Strangers’
Even though the original only came out in 2008, there’s already going to be a remake of The Strangers starring Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch And sure, these movies might be some people’s number one fear in life (hi, it me), but the modern update to the whole “home invasion by people in creepy masks” trope does sound interesting. Madelaine’s character and her BF are driving across the country when their car breaks down, and they have to stay in a secluded Airbnb where a group of strangers terrorize them.

11) ‘The Boogeyman’
Another Stephen King adaptation, but this one’s based on a short story. The movie—scheduled to come out on Hulu at some point this year—is about two sisters in the emotional trenches of dealing with the loss of their mother when a ~spooky presence~ shows up in their house.
