10 TV Shows and Movies to Watch This Week, Because It's Too Hot to Go Outside

It's the middle of July, which means it's hot as hell outside. Why would you spend your time sweating under the beating sun when you could be inside, in the air-conditioning, watching some new movies and TV shows, preferably with a glass of wine in hand? Thankfully, this week's slate of new releases is pretty good. From the return of Orange Is the New Black to Sideswiped and a new true-crime series, here are all the TV shows and movies to earmark for this (very hot) week.

Sunday, July 22

A Father's Nightmare: Everyone needs a little melodrama to kick off their week. This film, a sequel to 2012's A Mother's Nightmare, focuses back on Vanessa ( Jessica Lowndes) returning back home after a stint in a psychiatric institution. Weird things immediately start happening around town, which shouldn't be surprising. I mean, the word "nightmare" is in this movie's title. 8 P.M. ET on Lifetime

Monday, July 23

Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood: K. Michelle, Moniece Slaughter, Teairra Marí, Nikki Mudarris, and Lyrica Anderson are back for another season of this LHH spinoff, which will surely bring the drama. 8 P.M. ET on VH1

Tuesday, July 24

No Passport Required: This new, food-centric series comes from VOX Media's EATER. In tonight's episode, Chef Marcus Samuelsson visits the longstanding Mexican community in Chicago, eats tacos de cecina and grilled nopales, and learns more about the Mexican cuisine of the city.

9 P.M. ET on PBS

Iliza Shlesinger: Elder Millennial: In this hilarious new Netflix special, stand-up comedian Iliza Shlesinger takes on her new engagement, relationship and navigating life after turning 35. Streaming on Netflix

Wednesday, July 25

Castle Rock: Stephen King's classic story about a man who returns home to Maine and finds himself uneasy comes to life in this eerie new horror series. Streaming on Netflix

Sideswiped: YouTube is stepping up its original content game with this very funny new show about a woman who celebrates 35 by downloading Tinder, and swiping right on every guy she comes across. Streaming on YouTube Premium

Thursday, July 26

A Cinderella Story: This oldie-but-goodie is leaving Netflix at the end of the month, so watch it now while you can. Jennifer Coolidge low-key deserved an Oscar for playing Hilary Duff's "wicked stepmother." Streaming on Netflix

Friday, July 27

Orange Is the New Black: The women of Litchfield Penitentiary have to navigate a new home in the sixth season of this popular, Emmy-winning Netflix series. Uzo Aduba, as always, steals the show. Streaming on Netflix

Hot Summer Nights: This movie is basically 90-plus minutes of sweaty Timothée Chalamet getting into weed-adjcent shenanigans. What more could you want? In theaters

Saturday, July 28

Pink Collar Crimes: Questionable title aside, this interesting new series is hosted by Marcia Clark and explores women who've committed violent crimes. 8 P.M. ET on CBS
