The 10 Most Popular F&W Recipes of the Decade
Since 1978, Food & Wine has published over 24,000 recipes, and many of the best were developed in the past ten years. So, before 2020 hits, we're looking back at our most popular recipes from the past decade. Below, find the ten dishes that Food & Wine readers clicked, shared, saved, and reviewed more than any others, then try to cook them all before the New Year brings an onslaught of new recipes.
1. Baltimore-Style Crab Cakes (2012)
"The best crab cake recipe you'll ever find," said Andrew Zimmern, and the truth is, he's right (that is, if you don't overmix or pack the mounds too tightly). The TV personality nabbed the (formerly) secret recipe from his best friend's wife's mother.
2. Tacos Al Pastor (2015)
Marinated overnight and then thrown on the grill, this no-fuss pork shoulder is great for tacos or tortas, rice bowls, or huevos rancheros.
3. Garlic-Crusted Roast Rack of Lamb (2011)
We love an impressive dinner party dish that has only five (!) ingredients and comes together in just 10 minutes of active cooking time.
4. Classic Ceviche (2012)
Rich Bayless likes to serve this simple, flavorful ceviche in a big bowl, with chips and tostadas alongside.
5. Butter-Basted Rib Eye Steaks (2014)
Based on a recipe by Alain Ducasse, these richly flavored bone-in steaks are a dinner party godsend.
6. Sautéed Kale with Garlic and Olive Oil (2014)
This is one of those recipes that you memorize and then cherish for the rest of your life, swapping in different greens or spices depending on your mood.
7. Lemon-and-Garlic Baked Chicken Thighs (2014)
Simple, flavorful, and juicy, these chicken thighs are just as valuable for their leftover potential (we recommend chopping them for enchiladas).
8. Drunken Noodles (2013)
Bank Atcharawan's spicy noodles come together in no time and make the perfect canvas for just about any protein.
9. Potato-and-Broccoli Soup (2013)
Interestingly enough, this luscious soup doesn't get any of its creaminess from cream, but rather puréed potatoes, chicken stock, and a touch of butter. So naturally, we like to cover it in Parmesan cheese.
10. Chocolate Babka (2016)
Pastry chef Melissa Weller changed the entire game when she mixed crunched-up wafers inside the chocolate swirl, adding extra flavor and texture to each bite of babka.
