Indie Lee Squalane Facial Oil
Molly Sims is a reputed fan of this simple concoction, which is 100% olive-derived squalane — well known to be a super hydrator. Lee, who’s based out of Westchester county, New York, is fast becoming known for her uncomplicated take on natural skincare. (Her Rosehip cleanser is also a winner.)

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer
With a following that includes Miranda Kerr, Tilda Swinton, and Sofia Coppola, makeup artist Rose-Marie Swift has cool factor in spades. While she probably could have worked for any mega cosmetics brand, the New York talent is passionate about organic makeup, like her Living Luminizer. The universal highlighter, made of coconut oil and castor seed oil, adds just the right touch of flattering radiance. No wonder it’s her biggest seller.

May Lindstrom Skin The Clean Dirt Cleansing Clay
This Los Angeles-based brand has a growing cult following for its exotic ingredients. This effective clay cleanser (a godsend come the dog days of summer) sops up oil and exfoliates with two types of clay, red alaea sea salt, turmeric, and raw cacao.

Goldie’s Mood Mist No. 9
Stocked at the hip Wythe Hotel in Williamsburg, Goldie’s exudes Brooklyn nonchalance but without the hipster attitude. The Mood Mist No. 9 especially sets the right tone—the jasmine and helichrysm oil blend is said to provoke “insightful meditation.”

Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip Cleanser
Around since 2009, this Houston, Texas label is a fashion world favorite. (Sunday Riley does mini facials backstage at shows like Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham.) Her claim to fame is her unique product textures and efficacy, like this brightening clay and vitamin C cleanser, which is a crowd favorite. It also happens to be gel-based (a fresh treat for steamy days) with a foaming action — how’s that for innovative?

Blackbird Moto Oud
Eau de parfums tend to run unisex these days and if you’re open to experimentation then head to Blackbird in Seattle for some unusual olfactory experiences. The store’s new Moto Oud fragrance, for one, is supposed to evoke a “broken down motorcycle in the desert.”

Bottega Organica Face Balance Cream
This skincare line may have been founded in the big city (NYC), but it’s serious about its sourcing. So much so that Bottega Organica actually owns private farms in Liguria, Italy, and Chatham, New York. The line, which was started by three New York doctors and one Italian molecular geneticist, marries hardcore science (which derives extracts from medicinal plants–all grown without pesticides, naturally) with Ligurian olive oil. You’ll have to pay for all that legwork, but the line’s new face balance cream, containing holy basil, sage, French lilac, coneflower, and olive oil is an excellent all-around moisturizer.

Odacité Marula Neroli Serum Concentrate
We want our vegetables fresh, so why not our skincare? That’s an essential part of Valerie Grandury’s grand plan with her Los Angeles-based line Odacité. Each product is created only after an order is made and then directly shipped from the lab. Take the deeply nourishing Marula Neroli Serum Concentrate, which also happens to smell delightful — double win.

Stewart & Claire Lip Balm in Old-Fashioned
This snazzy balm is the product of a former Food & Wine editor and her musician husband— the two were fed up with childish lip balm scents, so sought to make formulations inspired by timeless cocktails. The duo’s certified organic Old-Fashioned balm feels especially sophisticated. There are notes of cedar, bitter orange, vanilla, and cinnamon. Now all we need is a tipple and we’ll call it a week!
