Peter Luger, Brooklyn, NY & Great Neck, NY
Peter Luger is a name that’s become virtually synonymous with great steaks over the years. With origins in 19th-century Williamsburg, Brooklyn, this steakhouse includes branches there and on Long Island. And while their adherence to tradition has some quirks–the restaurant remains a cash-only establishment, the waiters don’t have time to waste on slow customers–the food continues to give crowds a reason to flock here. Just make sure to get a side of creamed spinach with whatever you end up ordering.
