Veni, vidi, vici could be the motto of this week’s most stylish. The start of the Venice Film Festival brought out a newfound embrace of opulence (Cate Blanchett in gilded Armani), haute couture splendor (Dakota Johnson in Dior), and OTT embellishment (Elle Fanning in bejeweled and bowed Miu Miu). There were also some major fashion debuts: Emma Stone in Louis Vuitton’s take on neo-bohemian, Lady Gaga in Hedi Slimane’s very first design for Céline, and Canadian ingenue Hannah Gross finding her red carpet footing beautifully in Prada. And with the catwalk collections kicking off this week, here’s looking forward to many more breathtaking and decisive big-night victories!
