The Best Moisturizing Neck Creams for Firmer Skin

We're all familiar with the products needed to firm the skin on our face. But what about our neck? Because we spend so much time on our computers and phones (#techneck is real), the skin below our face goes through a lot (even if you slather sunscreen on it, which is a must-do). Contrary to popular belief, neck creams aren't just face creams disguised under a new name. “Neck treatments are formulated to repair, strengthen and hydrate the neck area, which is thinner than the rest of the skin on your body and subjected to repetitive movement and stretching,” says New York dermatologist and founder of his eponymous brand Dennis Gross.

While Gross says you can absolutely use your normal face cream on your neck, a true neck cream, one that preferably contains actives like retinol, vitamin C, peptides, and glycerin, will target deeper-set lines and wrinkles that come from the constant movement. However, “one of the easiest ways to treat the neck is to bring your face skincare down to your décolletage,” he adds.

Since the neck is a thinner and more sensitive area, and creams targeting it tend to contain strong actives, dermatologist Marina Peredo says “it’s important to not forget sunscreen on the neck and below.” With the derms's advice in mind, we're sharing some of our all-time favorite neck creams, for both day and night.
