The 10 Best Coastal Cities For Easter

The 10 Best Coastal Cities For Easter

Direct from the Easter Bunny himself (actually, the researchers at personal finance website WalletHub), the best coastal city in the USA to celebrate Easter in 2019 is ... New York, New York.

WalletHub knows how to rank cities: we love its America's Happiest Cities, Best Places to Get Married, and Best Places To Retire lists, and now we're loving this latest ranking of the country's major cities that combine good Sunday church offerings with an Easter egg-friendly environment.

To name its national list just in time for the holiday this weekend, WalletHub assessed the 100 most populous cities in the nation, using four categories: "Easter Observers" (numbers of churches and devout churchgoers per capita), "Easter Traditions" (a deluxe data set of number of candy and chocolate shops, brunch restaurants, flower and gift shops, and even the average price of a dozen eggs), "Kids' Easter" (number of kids in local population and number of egg-hunts per capita), and even an "Easter Weather Forecast" to find the warmest, sunniest spots for this Sunday. 1. New York City

The city that never sleeps also knows how to celebrate Easter. New York is number one overall and on the coast, thanks to its high rankings for Easter traditions (it came in first), kids' Easter (third), and Easter observers (fourth). New York has the most brunch restaurants, candy and chocolate shops, and flower and gift shops per capita, so you'll be able to stock those Easter baskets with ease and celebrate with mimosas. The only score it dipped on was Easter weather, though according to the forecast, NYC should have highs in the mid-60s with the chance for a few showers, so bring an umbrella to the Easter egg hunt (New York has the most of these per capita, too), and you'll be set.
