President Donald Trump has officially spent seven weekends at Mar-a-Lago, his Florida estate that he once referred to as "the Winter White House." How do we know this? There's a website dedicated to keeping tabs on the president's frequent trips to Mar-a-Lago, and it's glorious. According to the site, created by the Center For American Progress, Trump has spent $25 million of taxpayers' money to foot the bill for his trips.
The supershady website also has a drop-down menu that allows you to click through of a list of programs that could have benefited from the $25 million instead, including Medicaid, public-school funding, and Meals on Wheels. Many Trump critics have also called out the irony of his staggering number of visits to play golf, which is something he often criticized former President Barack Obama for doing.
It's starting to look like Trump enjoys the title of being president, just as long as he gets to take a lot of time off from being president, doesn't it?
