Did you think your home-selling process was stressful? Well, you're not alone. No, really, you're not: According to a new study by Zillow in honor of National Crying Day (yes, that's a thing; yes, it's today), 1 in 3 Americans has cried during the home-buying process. And that's not all: 1 in 5 admit to shedding tears 5 times or more. Pass the tissues!

"If you’ve ever sold a home before, you know how daunting the process can be," says Zillow brand president Jeremy Wacksman. "Anticipating that stress can be a huge obstacle that keeps homeowners from moving on to the next stage of their lives. Our survey found more Americans were stressed over selling their home than planning a wedding, getting fired or becoming a parent."

And while that may seem extreme, there's good reason it's so stressful: Zillow's research shows that 61 percent of sellers are buying a new home while selling, making the task a doubleheader of stress. Interestingly, Zillow notes, millennials and parents tend to be the ones most likely to cry.

The tears come for all different reasons, according to the survey:

"70 percent were stressed by uncertainty over the sale price, 69 percent were stressed their home wouldn’t sell in their desired timeframe, 65 percent were stressed an offer would fall through, and 65 percent were stressed about fixing up their home for sale." Well, that last one we can help you with!
