Yahoo News Now: former secretary of homeland security on Donald Trump's comments and Hillary Clinton's emails

In an exclusive interview on Wednesday, Aug. 10, Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric spoke to University of California President Janet Napolitano. A former secretary of homeland security and the ex-governor of Arizona, Napolitano will discuss the 2016 presidential campaign, particularly Donald Trump’s “Second Amendment people” comments and new questions being raised about email exchanges between employees at the Clinton Foundation and the State Department during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.

Napolitano weighed in on Donald Trump’s comments about “Second Amendment people” and Secretary Clinton. She told Couric, they’re “part of a troubling pattern of saying things that illustrate just lack of judgment.”

Napolitano explained what the role of the Secret Service would be following Trump’s comments.

Napolitano said, “I would would worry every night what I would wake up to in the morning about what Mr. Trump had said or done.”

Napolitano said Clinton “made a mistake” with the way she set up her private email server and called the email controversy Clinton’s “Achilles’ heel.”
