Oakland teen develops app to combat police brutality

George Hofstetter, a 15-year old African-American tech entrepreneur, designed the app CopStop! to “help eliminate feelings of danger, anxiety and inequality brought on when interacting with law enforcement.” Hofstetter is part of Oakland’s big tech boom, which has been working to promote inclusion and diversity within the industry’s local talent pool.
