Katie Couric is an award winning journalist and TV personality, well-known cancer activist and New York Times best-selling author.

As Yahoo Global News Anchor, Couric anchors live events and conducts groundbreaking interviews with major newsmakers and global game changers. Couric also hosts the popular weekly explainer series “Now I Get It.”

In 2014, Couric executive produced and narrated Fed Up, a documentary about the alarming spread of childhood obesity.

Prior to joining Yahoo, Couric served as the host of her eponymous syndicated daytime talk show, Katie which ran for two acclaimed seasons during which time she was also a special correspondent for ABC News, contributing to ABC World News, Nightline, 20/20, Good Morning America, This Week, and primetime news specials from August 2011 to December 2013.

In 2006, after a 15-year run as co-anchor of NBC’s Today Show, Couric made history at CBS News where she became the first female solo anchor of an evening news broadcast.

Couric is a co-founder of Stand Up To Cancer (SU2C), co-founder of the National Colorectal Cancer Research Alliance (NCCRA) with the Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF) and Lilly Tartikoff, and co-founder of the Jay Monahan Center for Gastrointestinal Health.

Born in Arlington, Virginia, Couric graduated with honors from the University of Virginia in 1979. She currently lives in New York City.
