Gloria Steinem on a woman taking over the Trump campaign, Hillary Clinton’s strategy, and her memoir

On Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, feminist icon and author Gloria Steinem sits down with Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric. The two discuss women and the 2016 race, Steinem’s take on the latest Trump news, and the historic moment of a woman – Hillary Clinton – at the top of a major party ticket. Steinem addresses the disparity between Donald Trump’s public statements on women juxtaposed with a woman now running his campaign. Steinem also discusses her memoir, “My Life on the Road,” out in paperback this month.

Steinem on Hillary Clinton’s emails: ‘If anything she’s apologized too much.’

Steinem on Donald Trump’s new female campaign manager: ‘It’s like seeing an anti-Semitic candidate being managed by a Jewish person.’

In her 2008 Hillary Clinton endorsement, Steinem wrote, “There is still no ‘right’ way to be a woman in public power without being considered a you-know-what.” In 2016, Steinem told Couric she’s figured out what to say when she’s called that: “Thank you.”

Steinem gave Couric her thoughts on Ivanka and Melania Trump, Donald Trump’s stance on abortion and the future of the Supreme Court.
