The two discuss women and the 2016 race, Steinem’s take on the latest Trump news, and the historic moment of a woman – Hillary Clinton – at the top of a major party ticket. Steinem addresses the disparity between Donald Trump’s public statements on women juxtaposed with a woman now running his campaign. In her 2008 Hillary Clinton endorsement, Steinem wrote, “There is still no ‘right’ way to be a woman in public power without being considered a you-know-what.” In 2016, Steinem told Couric she’s figured out what to say when she’s called that: “Thank you.”
