As part of Yahoo Global News Anchor Katie Couric’s series “Cities Rising: Rebuilding America,” she is met by multiplatinum R&B artist D’Wayne Wiggins of Tony Toni Toné, who explains how music saved him from the rough streets of Oakland, California as a kid and inspired him to give back through free music programs for youth. At Youth Uprising, Couric learns how the community organization is providing young people mentorship so they are not left behind by the revitalization of Oakland.
