An 89-year-old former Congressman's tweets may have been the best part of Tuesday night's CNN GOP debate.

Former Rep. John Dingell (D-Mich.), who has some impressive Twitter skills, live-tweeted the last Republican debate of the year, offering some serious real talk.

Dingell at first tried to act like he wasn't interested.

But he couldn't stay away.

Dingell criticized all the candidates, calling them "clowns."

He didn't shy away from slamming business mogul Donald Trump, who suggested the U.S. should shut down the Internet to combat online recruiting efforts by the so-called Islamic State.
