Trump Says 'Absolutely No Collusion' With Russia After Michael Flynn Pleads Guilty

President Donald Trump told reporters he’s not worried about former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleading guilty as part of special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia probe.

Trump told reporters before boarding Air Force One to New York that there has been “absolutely no collusion. So we’re very happy,” Bloomberg News’ Jennifer Jacobs tweeted Saturday morning.

Flynn pleaded guilty to one count of lying to the FBI about his contacts with Sergei Kislyak, the former Russian ambassador to the U.S., it was reported Friday.

Trump claimed he is not worried about what Flynn might tell the special counsel when he testifies.

Flynn said “a very senior member of the Presidential Transition Team” directed him to call Russia late last year with regard to an upcoming United Nations Security Council vote, according to court records. Sources have told several news outlets that Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, is the official in question.

The White House has attempted to distance itself from Flynn, going so far as to call him an “Obama administration official.”
