To me, Freddy is the single most important character in the entire franchise, and the producers went gangbusters by getting Jackie Earle Haley. The latest via STYD has former Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles star Thomas Dekker in negotiations to play one of the teen victims - er, I mean, characters in the reboot. Dekker would play Jesse, a swim team jock who will probably get his at the end of Freddy's knives pretty early on. 2
