Carnival celebrations have yet to kick off in Brazil, but yesterday the island of Tenerife elected its Carnival queen, and boy did she make an impression.
As of Wednesday, 22-year-old Carmen Gil Gonzales can call herself the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival Queen, Tenerife Magazine reports. She was elected during a gala on February 16, wearing a gorgeous dress called 'Imperio' by designer Santi Castro, the Wall Street Journal reported.
According to the International Business Times, the Carnival of Santa Cruz on Tenerife in the Canary Islands is the second-largest Carnival celebration in the world.
