It’s safe to say that this hasn’t been the easiest year for everyone — and that’s especially true for all the single folks out there. If dating pre-pandemic was hard, hooking up during a pandemic is even harder.

If you haven’t heard of Singles Day (11/11, get it?), here’s a brief breakdown from Vox: Singles Day was started in the ’90s and turned into a big one-day shopping holiday thanks to Alibaba, a Chinese e-commerce retailer.
It’s the biggest shopping holiday of the year, beating out Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Last year, Singles Day sales broke a record, bringing in over $31 billion in sales.
