Mitt Romney's 'Game Of Thrones' Gift For Wife Goes Viral For Unfortunate Reason
Warning: spoilers for “Game of Thrones” below.
Sen. Mitt Romney’s (R-Utah) “Game of Thrones”-themed Mother’s Day gift for his wife, Ann Romney, left people on Twitter tickled.
But it wasn’t the thoughtful bespoke sculpture itself, which features the names of the couple’s five children linked to the words “Mother Of Dragons,” that made many people chuckle.
I really hope @AnnRomney appreciates her Mother’s Day gift… pic.twitter.com/FnACKduZzK

It was the timing of its online unveiling.
Romney tweeted a snap of the gift on Sunday afternoon.
In the latest “Thrones” episode that aired just hours later, actress Emilia Clarke’s character Daenerys Targaryen (aka the Mother of Dragons in HBO’s epic fantasy drama) went on a brutal killing rampage across King’s Landing.
“Mitt is working on a sternly worded op-ed condemning Daenerys right now,” joked one tweeter in response:
