Ken Starr's 'Age Of Impeachment' Whine Gets The Treatment On Twitter
Ken Starr was accused of hypocrisy after he complained about being in “the age of impeachment” during President Donald Trump’s Senate trial on Monday:
Ken Starr: "Indeed, we are living under what, I think, can aptly be described as the Age of Impeachment... How did we get here?" pic.twitter.com/pzU9x8Xnql

“How did we get here?” asked Starr, a member of Trump’s defense team.
People on Twitter reminded the lawyer of his previous role as the independent counsel who stridently pressed the impeachment of former President Bill Clinton over the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
MSNBC’s Ari Melber said Starr’s complaint was “BEYOND RICH coming from him,” while Watergate figure John Dean called Starr the “progenitor of that age.”
Ken Starr opens by arguing impeachment has become too common in the modern era. I rarely use caps but that is BEYOND RICH coming from him.

Ken Starr lamenting the “age of impeachment” is astounding. Next Bernie Madoff is going to speak out against financial fraud. Followed by Joseph hazelwood speaking on safely hauling oil. And then President trump advocating against bankruptcies and too many lawsuits.

Does Ken Starr know he is Ken Starr?
— Elizabeth de la Vega (@Delavegalaw) January 27, 2020
It we are in the “Age of Impeachment” as Ken Starr argues he is its progenitor of that age when he launched the partisan impeachment of Bill Clinton. His argument is filled with holes. He has no basis to say the House is doing what HE did to Clinton! This is pure bogus diversion!
— John Dean (@JohnWDean) January 27, 2020
Ken Starr would be more convincing if he were to say, “I apologize for my role in impeaching Bill Clinton. It was all a big mistake. I too fell prey to the passions of the Age of Impeachment.”

Ghost-from-the-past Ken Starr tells Senate impeachment trial to 'close this idiosyncratic chapter' of 'the age of impeachment' and 'let the people decide'. Well he should know...
— David Charter (@DavidCharter) January 27, 2020
Ken Starr calls this period “the Age of Impeachment,” and asks, “How did we get here?” He then whips out a hand mirror and says, “Oh, right. It was me. My bad.”

It is so deeply ironic to hear Ken Starr ... KEN STARR!!! ... argue that removing a president through impeachment is too grave a disruption without a bipartisan consensus. Bill Clinton won a popular vote AND EC vote TWICE; he was popular, and his impeachment was purely political.

Ken Starr bemoans that we are now living in the “age of impeachment.” He asks, “how did we get here?”
I have some ideas.— Don Moynihan (@donmoyn) January 27, 2020
Ken Starr arguing against "The Age of Impeachment" is 🙃🙃🙃
— Michael Lista (@michaellista) January 27, 2020
Wow. Ken Starr is giving a fascinating and actually thoughtful talk in the Senate trial. As well as crazily meta and disingenuous given that he’s a main enabler of what he calls the Age of Impeachment.

Ken Starr, who impeached a President over an extra-marital affair, is now wondering how we got to the "age of impeachment" and warns that impeachment is inherently destabilizing.
That GOP couldn't find LITERALLY ANYBODY ELSE to make this argument is amazing.#ImpeachmentTrial— Elie Mystal (@ElieNYC) January 27, 2020

Ken Starr complaining about this being the "Age of Impeachment" is a little too rich.
Vomit inducing.— Zac Petkanas (@Zac_Petkanas) January 27, 2020
I'm sorry but is Ken Starr seriously decrying the "age of impeachment"? ...KEN STARR?
— Brian Tyler Cohen (@briantylercohen) January 27, 2020
The irony is hilarious. Yes, THEE KEN STARR, now is indeed the age of impeachment. 🤥🤭 https://t.co/sPFNkTBxXL

Age of Irony
Ken Starr who led the impeachment against Bill Clinton over a blue dress is now defending Donald Trump & lamenting Age of Impeachment that seeks to supplant the will of the People.
Yet Bill Clinton’s Presidecy was the most popular & brought unparalleled prosperity.— Donald B Kipkorir (@DonaldBKipkorir) January 28, 2020
Ken Starr: Impeachment must be bipartisan. This is absurdly grandiosely ironic on Orwellian scale.

Beneath the deep absurdity of Ken Starr warning about the “age of impeachment” he helped usher in…
…and the hypocrisy of the positions he argued…
Starr made all process arguments…
and avoided the underlying accusations against the president.— John Avlon (@JohnAvlon) January 27, 2020
