Any scientist knows that a well-designed experiment can first require a bit of trial and error. Sometimes, you just don’t know which factors will affect your results.

For instance, take this video of a high school student attempting the classic “egg drop” assignment. One might presume that the apparatus would safely cushion the egg to a soft landing, but Dutch the dog over here had other plans.

“Is it broken?”

You bet it is.
