Mom Whose Reaction To Her Ultrasound Went Viral Gives Birth To Quadruplets
Utah parents Ashley and Tyson Gardner welcomed four babies, Indie, Esme, Scarlett and Evangeline -- a crew they're calling the Gardner Quad Squad -- on Sunday. All four newborns weighed in at about 2 lbs, according to the family's Facebook post.
The Gardners found out they were expecting quadruplets earlier this year and promptly became Internet celebrities. Ashley and Tyson tried to conceive for eight years, they told The Huffington Post back in October, and ultimately succeeded through a round of IVF treatment.
When the couple learned Ashley was carrying two sets of identical twins, their photographer friend Alicia Hallock was there to capture their shocked, yet completely appropriate reactions:
"I've never felt so many emotions all at one time," Gardner told The Huffington Post at the time. Her due date was March 11, but according to their Facebook page, doctors expected the babies to come early.

The expectant mother's sister Whitney set up a Facebook page and website for the family, in part to help raise money for The Quad Squad -- think about how many diapers they'll need! -- but also to keep friends and family updated. Early Sunday morning, Dad posted a video announcement on Facebook with the caption: "UPDATE: Birth could be coming soon! Please listen to update. I'll try and keep them coming! Prayers and love are much appreciated right now!!!"
Two hours later, Whitney announced:
UPDATE: BABIES ARE COMING RIGHT NOW! Contractions weren't stopping so the doctors agreed it was best to take them now. Send your prayers for these sweet babies!! Xoxo -Whitney
Among the photos shared, the family posted an image of Ashley saying hi to her daughter Esme:
According to the updates that followed, all four dark-haired babies are doing well, so is mom, and the family plans to share their adventure on TLC.
