Ellen Page: 'Women Are Sexual Creatures'
When actress Ellen Page, star of "Juno" and "The East," participated in a Reddit Ask Me Anything session this weekend, she spoke out about being a woman in the entertainment industry.
The actress revealed her dedication to roles where women are empowered and autonomous:
Considering there are so few roles for women and the roles that do exist can be so narrow in their idea of what a woman can be, it is extremely important to me to be involved with projects where the girl is in charge of her own destiny and is honest and well written.
She also explained why she supports pornography directed and produced by women -- and why the porn industry needs to shift and become more woman-friendly. "To only have porn from the male perspective is damaging," Page commented. "Women are sexual creatures, as much as men and that needs to be embraced."
