Twitter Users ‘Fix’ Donald Trump’s Coronavirus Briefing Banners

Social media users scathingly reworked the boastful banners displayed at the coronavirus press briefing President Donald Trump ended abruptly on Monday.

The props for Trump’s appearance in the White House Rose Garden crowed that “America Leads The World In Testing” for COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus.

Trump, who has been criticized for his administration’s inaction and testing failures, has been trying to rewrite the blunderous history with falsehoods and distortions.

The U.S. has indeed conducted more tests than any other country (upward of 9.6 million), but languishes in around 40th place worldwide for the number of tests completed per capita.

Twitter users edited ― or “fixed,” as some said ― the signs to note that the United States is actually leading the world in the number of deaths from the disease. So far, it has killed about 81,000 people nationwide.

Others noted that the U.S. leads in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases, with upward of 1.3 million positive diagnoses.

Trump abruptly ended the briefing when two female reporters challenged his testing claims.
