It's 1,000 Degrees In Arizona, But This Weatherman Kept His Cool

It was over 1,000 degrees in parts of Arizona Tuesday. At least, that’s according to a glitchy Accuweather map that a Phoenix weatherman was confronted with while delivering a local -- and live -- weather report on camera.

But despite the heat, Fox 10 weatherman Cory McCloskey kept his cool, gamely turning a potentially awkward moment into a hilarious one.

“Wow, 750 degrees in Gila Bend right now, and 1270 in Ahwatukee,” McCloskey said, poker-faced, as he analyzed the malfunctioning map. “Now, I’m not authorized to evacuate Ahwatukee, but this temperature seems pretty high.”

As for Wickenburg, where the weather was said to be 2385 degrees, hot enough to melt pure silver, McCloskey had little hope.

It’s “a total loss,” he deadpanned.
