Obama And Romney Finally Agree -- On Who Should Host The CMT Music Awards

If there is one thing President Barack Obama and Mitt Romney can agree on, it's that two people can host the CMT Music Awards. Or so they said during taped appearances in the opening segment of the CMT Awards on Wednesday night.

The video featuring the two presidential candidates has country music singer Toby Keith campaigning against actress Kristin Bell for the coveted position of the awards show's Host-in-Chief.

A focused Obama appears in the segment staring out a window of his chief of staff's office, before a cameraman asks, "Mr. President, do you have a decision?"

"This is one of the toughest decisions I've had to make since I've been in office," he says, turning to the camera. "But I think I've decided." The president then circles the names of both 'candidates', telling the cameraman, "I want them both."

It is then Romney's turn to exercise his seldom-seen humorous side. The Republican contender, with a Texas flag behind him (in all fairness, he has been campaigning there) faces the camera and says: "Boy, I thought the presidential election was a tough race, but it's nothing compared to the politics at the CMT Music Awards."

The former Massachusetts governor also plays it safe and suggests both Keith and Bell host the show, but not without taking a jab at Obama. "See, I just put two people back to work," Romney jokes. "You're welcome, America."

This isn't the first time the show has attracted cameos from presidential candidates. Obama, Hillary Clinton, and John McCain all taped videos for the awards show during the 2008 presidential race.

CORRECTION: An eagle-eyed reader pointed out that Obama was not in the Oval Office, as originally reported, but in his chief of staff's office.
