Boost It With Matcha

If there’s a creative way to use matcha green tea powder, we’ve found it. We’re sneaking the stuff into lattes, baked goods, and every breakfast imaginable (and sharing our matcha creations on Instagram!). Yes, the traditional Japanese drink tastes amazing (think slightly grassy, with a subtle earthy sweetness), but it’s also packed with antioxidants, can help rev up your metabolism, and is naturally rich in fiber. It’s also great when you’re feeling sluggish — one teaspoon of matcha can keep your energy levels up for hours.

Here’s how to boost the foods you know and love with the mean, green power of matcha.

Yogurt + Matcha: Mix one teaspoon of matcha into your favorite plain yogurt. Need it a little sweeter? Add a drizzle of honey.

Cereal + Matcha: Mix one teaspoon of matcha into your milk of choice and pour over cereal.

Green Tea + Matcha: Want the health benefits of green tea but need a little more caffeine? This is for you. Pour hot (but not boiling!) water over a bag of green tea, let steep for 30 seconds, and mix in one teaspoon of matcha.

Oatmeal + Matcha: Prepare oatmeal according to directions, then set aside. Whisk matcha into your milk of choice, pour over oatmeal, and add nuts or fruit for an extra somethin’-somethin’.
