From Cosmopolitan

Relationships aren't always the magical, ever-after romances rom-coms make them out to be. More often than not, they turn out to be messy, confusing, and just not worth fighting for. Cosmopolitan.com asked 16 twentysomething women about the exact moment they realized they weren't really into their relationship anymore and their responses were way too real.

1. "When I told him about a great accomplishment of mine and instead of congratulating me, he tried to beat it with a past accomplishment of his. I realized nothing was ever good enough for him, including me." -Reina, 20

2. "When I stopped getting jealous over all the other girlfriends he had and started finding my own guy friends to be with." -Allison, 20

3. "When he looked at me and smiled like he always did and said something like, 'I missed you,' and I said the words in return but that's all they were ... words. Like I was a robot saying them. Instead of a person." -Sierra, 20

4. "When I studied abroad and my boyfriend cheated on me. Guess I should've heard him when he said he wasn't going to stay if I left. Good riddance." -Kasey, 21

5. "When he ignored me at his own party." -Devon, 21

6. "I realized that I just wasn't into my relationship anymore when he stopped being attentive to my needs and I felt like he wasn't making an effort." -Peta, 20

7. "When he called me cheap for taking him out to dinner and not letting him get dessert because the bill was already $90." -Bree, 21

8. "When I no longer tried or cared to spend time with them. Also I became annoyed with a lot of the little things they would do or say." -Sabrina, 20

9."When I was at his house watching the football game, and I made an excuse to leave earlier, not because I had plans but because I wanted to be anywhere else but there." -Stephanie, 23

10. "When my ex told me I wasn't good enough. He told me I wasn't doing enough for myself and left me hyperventilating on my back porch. At that point, there was no fixing anything. He didn't wanna help me, I didn't wanna put anymore effort in. It wasn't worth it to me if I wasn't worth it to him." -Ashley, 25

11. "When he kept feeding me the same lies. Relationship lasted a year and I believed whole-heartedly that he would stick to his word, but ended up just lying through his teeth the entire relationship." -Gianna, 21

12. "I knew I wasn't into the relationship anymore the moment his best friend started hitting on me and I didn't stop it. His best friend and I started fooling around on the reg, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions I ever made. My ex and I never speak, but the relationship I have with his best friend is still close and we consider ourselves best friends. Best part, my ex has no idea who I cheated on him with. It's our little secret." -Laura, 27

13. "When he forgot the side of ranch for my pizza." -Linda-Lee, 22

14. "I realized I wasn't into my boyfriend anymore when he started telling me he was going out to the bar with his best friend, when in reality his best friend was hanging out with me the entire night." -Sarah, 26

15. "One night, I came home from a long day at work and found my boyfriend at home with a beer in his hand and another woman on his lap. The bad part was that I wasn't even mad. I simply left the house and never turned back." -Jennifer, 25

16. "We moved in together only a few months after we started dating. I quickly realized he was seriously the worst roommate ever. Soon enough, everything he did started to bother me. It wasn't long after that that I ended it. I just couldn't live with him!" -Vicky, 27
