North Korea said on Monday that it successfully tested a solid-fuel ballistic missile that it is capable of reaching Japan and major U.S. military bases, according to state media. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the launch from an observation post and ordered it for deployment, the state-run Korean Central News Agency said. The launch was the country's second missile test in a little more than a week as the country continues to defy demands that it rein in its nuclear and missile programs.
